Lol One Piece doesnt even have good fights...in the fight department Naruto Bleach HxH and just about every other mainstream shonen beats One Piece. Its the story and World building which seperates One Piece from travesties like Naruto and Bleach.

You've got the wrong show if you just want fights...OP has epic moments and short scuffles not full on fights. You're wasting your time.

OP does have good fights but they're off-paneled at times and there's better alternatives for people who just want to see good/entertaining fights. The main selling point of the series is the story-telling, world building & mysteries it has.

HxH has the best battles in all of shonen, they rely on strategy and it's not always about who has strongest nen who will win the battle. It's all about outsmarting you're opponent. Skip to 1:25 it perfectly sums up HxH battles and how all battles should be like in shonens:

Togashi is the god of battles/fights in shonen so watch HxH 2011 anime if you want a shonen with good fights. It has the best and most consistent fighting system. Oda's true strength lies in story telling and world building. There's only a few shonens that can compete with OP in that department but I haven't read a series that's overall better than OP. Just my opinion tho

Oda is sadly following this copy paste formula lately with Micheal Bay like Scenarios of Fan service and "Epic" Shit to hide the bad pacing and and cookie cutter plot

Plus if you start at MarinFord you will miss the awesome Impel Down arc

Why waste time with starting in the middle of the story? You won't know why some chars act how they act. You won't know why people do what they do. If your going to start from 517 you minus well just go to Yt and watch op fights instead of claiming that you watch the Anime or read the Manga.​
