What about Hiruzen being the strongest shinobi of all time and the others being just history, and then Hashirama becoming the god of all shinobi, and then Madara being the closest thing to the SO6P? That's even worse if you ask me.

And Kakashi having had mangekyou throughout the entire first part of the series but never using it at all (vs Itachi for example).

And Hashirama's looks DRASTICALLY changed :

Some of these points are just difference in art styles, not really an inconsistency. And yeah, the series has been molded gradually into a story about how ridiculously powerful 1st Hokage and Madara were/are. It kind of makes you wonder why they fkn bothered having clans to back them up.

That is the result of different animators and the age difference of Hashi in those pictures. The first one is his Edo-Tensei. (who knows what age) but its obvious he is much older. The third one was before Konoha began and he was the leader of the senju. He was pretty young then.

Who cares. Manga is still boss.

But with the "Obito physically closed his eye and Itachi did not"

1. Itachi and Obito are two different people, meaning one might want to close his eye and the other might not (They are not robots)
2. Izanagi might force the eye to close but Izanami might keep the eye open but blind.
3. Like i said, who cares.
