Even if Obito is powerful now, he would've still been remembered as the Kid Obito. That's the last Obito the people in Konoha knew. He wasn't known throughout the Shinobi world simply because he didn't make a name for himself. The Obito a few people knew had died then.


After Obito's death, came the rise of Tobi. Despite it still being Obito and becoming powerful, he no longer wanted to be known by his old name. Instead, he used Madara's name since it had power. People knew who Madara was. Obito, on the other hand, was known by a few people as a kid who died during a war.



No reason why Obito would have a statue created for him if only a few people knew who he was. The Obito who everyone knew didn't make an impact on the shinobi world. The Obito who plunged the world into this war is someone who was wearing a mask hiding his identity.
