Orochimaru wants the Sharingan because it can copy techniques,and his goal is to master all jutsu.He's always said so.Remember Kakashi is supposed to have copied 1000 techniques using his Sharingan.

I think you are right, Sasuke is technically way closer to So6p than Naruto is, blood line wise and Orochimaru does want to learn every Jutsu in the world and the only way that is possible is Sharingan or Rinnegan...
