Sorry in advance if the spacing and images are all messed up....the Base combined with my computer is completely screwy at the moment.
After today's chapter....Sasuke pretty much looks like he's gone insane....Protect Konoha, but kill the Hero of Konoha.
HOWEVER, based on the previous chapters my guess is that there is a little more than the Naruto rivaly.
To start, Sasuke obviously read whatever Madara has read up to the level of EMS on the Uchiha Stone Tablet. I am assuming that something he read here, combined with what Hashirama explained during his flashback, changed his mind about crushing Konoha.
I am theorizing that the Tablet likely has some comments on the Bijuu, and Sasuke has decided that the fall of his clan may be the fault of the Bijuu/Juubi's existence even before Danzo, Itachi, and Obito.
This was the first image showing us that Sasuke truly did have an alternative plan...or at least something going on in his mind. And he specifically says, "Burn it down." Obviously he refers to the Juubi and his desire to see it burn into nothingness.....which, combined with his facial expression, shows extreme hatred towards the thing.
With today's recent chapter, we see that Sasuke once again has what appear to be extreme flaws in logic (Protect Konoha...but apparently kill the Hero of Konoha).
However, approaching with a more analytical insight reveals a less "flawed logic" approach. Notice that in the picture....the sword slash SPECIFICALLY goes through Naruto. Instead of jus shattering the entirety of the Team 7 photo (including Sakura and Kakashi)...the images SPECIFICALLY slashes through Naruto.
And what does Naruto have in common with the Juubi? Obviously the answer would be Kurama, but how can we further prove this....with Sasuke's words.
Sasuke says, "Not you...I will erase the past!" The only thing Naruto really has that could link both Juubi Possessed Obito and Naruto with past is the fact that Naruto is Kurama's Jinjuriki...meaning that Sasuke isn't exactly targeting Naruto because he's Naruto, but by coincidence he's Kurama's Jinjuriki.
Sasuke's current endeavor is likely to eliminate the Juubi based on information he read on the Tablet. He had a rather sincere like appearance when he said he'd spare Konoha, and that leads me to believe he was not lying. Further proof of this seems to be that little "Heh!" smile he gave when Sakura went all Falcon Punch against the ground as well as the fact the Team 7 Photo doesn't slice Sakura or Kakashi.
From his intense stare and quote of wanting to burn the Juubi away....as well as specifically targeting Naruto mentioning he wishes to erase the past leads me to believe Sasuke is targeting Kurama more than specifically Naruto. This will also possibly mean that Sasuke will strike out against Killer Bee as well.
My final thought would be that we also seemingly don't know what Madara is up to....we have been complaining about his "Lack of doing anything" with the whole Infinite Tsukiyomi; however, with Sasuke not even acknowledging he's there...this could possibly further lead us to believe both Sasuke is against the Juubi...and that Madara may have an alternate game plan.
I myself found this a little obvious so to those who wish to say, "Way to go captain obvious," I will say I prefer Colonel Obvious
!
Anyways let me know what you think!
