Theory: Sasuke never came back to the village, but Sarada is still Sakura's daughter.

nice thread. sakura is def hiding something. i firmly believe shes not ignorant of the whole situation and knows exactly what sasuke is doing, the specifics and all of it but she cannot tell sarada till he comes back or something.

Amazing thread, although I only think Sarada doesn't know of her father the same way Hiruzen never told Naruto about Minato. Sasuke is probably the most wanted person in the world because of his power, similar to how Naruto was seen by Akatsuki and Danzo so his private life should be kept a secret.

I don't think sakura would opt for anything pre marital iykwm. Why would she create a fatherless child knowing full well the risks associated with sasuke as you are theorising? It comes across as selfish. Unless Sarada was an accident.

And surprisingly enough, I love the SS fan art. Thanks for sharing

Yeah she knows, she did say to Sarada that Sasuke was on a very important mission, and would be back soon.

I did not mention marriage because they are obviously under tough circumstances in this situation. Going by this scenario, they would probably marry if they could, and maybe they managed to do so somehow somewhere I don't know. But what's clear is that they were consenting, if they had a baby together that means they both wanted to which is not selfish from Sakura's part. A baby is the best gift for Sasuke probably even if he may never get to see her for a long time. And they were obviously hoping that things will get better based on Sakura's speech in chapter 1.

Hmm.. great theory. If she doesn't turn out to be some experimental creation then I'm going to go with this

What they want shouldnt matter when a child is concerned. Sarada deserves better. Who would want that life for a child? If the circumstances are that grave then leaving off introducing a child into the mix would have been the sensible thing to do. Instead of having a child and rearing it fatherless. As you state, those circumstances would have been clear to begin with.

I doubt there's anything rationally sound that can justify things. Sarada was deeply upset in that chapter and feels envious of her peers. Poor kid. You're theory would make things that much worse because it implies all was deliberate.

But its certainly interesting

I understand what you are saying. Growing up without a father is certainly not ideal, but they gave her a shot at life, in a peaceful village with a caring mother. That's more than Sasuke ever had post-massacre. Sarada turned out very smart and strong willed, she can get past her daddy issues and Sasuke probably knew this.

She's very sad and resentful about the whole situation though. Kishi is going in dark with this one. And here we thought we would be getting ten chapters of happy families
