Actually you're probably right on that part, clans might have existed during the Sage's time but there's nothing that says there were or there wasn't clans while the Sage was alive. You are right with the Senju and Uchiha coming from his children but I honestly don't know if clans existed before then or not.

In addition, the manga specifically clarifies that Clans were existence during the time of the Sage, in terms of his origins:

He was a priest (with no affiliated clan), which implies he came from a priesthood/familiy of priest who conducted researches on Chakra and ways to defeat the Juubi. By his prowess, it's only logical to assume the Sage was their leader.

I'm not sure why people believe he was an uzumaki when the manga disagrees.

Also the manga never said that there weren't clans or that he didn't come from a clan. The OP only proved that he had two sons who created the Senju and Uchiha clan. The manga never said that they started all clans.

There were wars in the time of the sage, manga fact. You can't prove that it wasn't clans back then which fought against each other.

Senju is blood relatives with Uzumaki. So how is it possible the sage is an uzumaki ?

With so much stuff pointing to the sage being Uzumaki, you can't bring up such arguments and think that it will prove the theory wrong. Especially if the arguments are opinions that people have concerning the subject.
Although we can't really prove 100% that he is an Uzumaki, atleast the stuff some of us come up with can be passed as 100% plausible...

I'll ignore the bold being that it's irrelevant to my post. "A" priest, implies that he wasn't the only "Priest" in those days, and it was no doubt an occupation being that it is refereed to as an office according to my scan. Also, being in such an office implies that he was a priest before his appearance and no doubt had to become a priest via teachings from other priest, which points directly to his rudiments.
