Theory: Rasengan is actually quite easy to use

However, naruto devised a new way of performing rasengan with clones. This significantly reduced the difficulty of the move. At first it seemed like this method of using rasengan would only work for naruto. However, it's clear from kohamarau that a single clone isn't very taxing and pretty much anyone could learn this technique.

Anyone who can make a clone could probably learn clone rasengan without much more difficulty than your average C+ jutsu. The insane difficulty of doing the move one handed was only ever mastered by minato, kakashi and jman.

I think it would be a very popular move if more ninjas knew about the shadow clone method

Konohamaru is a Sarutobi, it's not like he's some random ninja from a random clan. You still need to have the dexterity to control the spin and power and having a shadow clone won't guarantee that. But yes thanks to Naruto it is more accessible.

I have seen Naruto with Kurama Chakra make a Rasengan, but never have I seen base Naruto make a Rasengan that has hurt an enemy. He needed clones in his fight against Pain, and he has been in KCM in every fight since.

you have to be able to make clones capable of performing jutsu which are high rank techniques. plus it is still hard to master the different parts

Sasuke, one clone holds Kakashi, one rotates and then he and Sasuke have their second epic clash.

Ever since, he has used KCM Chakra to manipulate giving him the ability to make multiple Rasengan, and variants of his best Rasengan techniques. Planetary Rasengan, Mini Rasenshuriken, Giant Rasengan, Rasengan where he picks up the Zetsu and slams them into one massive central Rasengan, and the list goes on. But not one single instance of his using Rasengan, in his base form, without clones.

Not quite. While it is incredibly difficult to do one handed, it still is incredibly hard to have that perfect shape manipulation. Remember naruto in with no clones could do 2/3rds of the rasengan. Also it has been said before that it is highly unusual for someone to have enough chakra to be able to make visible chakra.

Narutos rasengan is a b rank jutsu or higher.
