this was a great read, and very interesting, there are indeed a lot of likenesses between this real clan and the uzumaki clan so I would say that it's very likely that kishi got his inspiration for the uzumaki clan from this clan of priests. and there are a lot of things that point in the direction of the sage of six paths' powers, but I'm not ready to accept (and I don't believe it either) that the So6P was an uzumaki, so I can't agree with your last 3 words yet until it's said in the manga.

all we know from the So6P for sure is that he apparently was the first to use jutsu and had a rinnegan, that he was very powerful and apparently a master at sealing since he managed to seal the juubi in his own body and the juubi's body in the moon, this is something he directly shares with the uzumaki, who are also master sealers. and he was the father to the uchiha and senju clan.

what I stumble about is that it was actually said that the senju and the uzumaki were distant blood relatives, and that no one from the uzumaki ever awakened eye powers. and nagato doesn't count since he was given uchiha madara's eyes so he never awakened the rinnegan from his own eyes.
and naruto isn't going to get them either, sasuke maybe but I don't think so.

The Rinnegan came from the Jūbi, that is why Rikūdou's Uzumaki relatives could not awaken it because they dont have the Jūbi's essence inside them, only Rikūdou's direct descendants and their combination could since Uchiha and Senju are the Yin and Yang of the Juubi

the correct equation is Uzumaki+Juubi= Senju and Uchiha

I do know of that picture where the jubi has the combination of rinnegan and sharingan for an eye standing in front of the So6P but it was nowhere stated the the So6P only got the rinnegan after sealing the jubi inside him? and I would find it bizarre if that was true, because he would need those powers to beat the jubi in the first place.

it looks like someones theory since its from deviantart and if this is so then it's not positively confirmed to be true.

The Rinnegan is the Eye of Samsara or the Eye of Suffering, The Rikudou endured fighting and sealing the Juubi thus he awakened the Rinnegan. If the Rikudou acquired it through meditation and knowledge then it would be called the Eye of Nirvana or the Eye of Enlightenment, if the Rikudou was born with the Rinnegan then it would be called the Eye of the Bodhisattva or the Eye of the Sennin (Sage) So it is an absolute logical certainty that the Rinnegan came from the Juubi.
