Voila, the next chapter!
Naruto jumped up off the ground and doubled back. He grabbed three shurikens and threw them at Sasuke, who easily deflected them with a kunai. The three deflected shurikens turned into Narutos and when Sasuke was caught off guard, they kicked him into the air.
Narutos: Na-ru-to...
The original Naruto jumped up to finish the attack.
Naruto: Uzumaki ba-GACK!
Sasuke, quickly realizing what was coming, spun around and kicked the original Naruto in the gut.
Sasuke: You're so predictable!
They both continued striking and blocking as they fell back towards the ground. Sakura was still standing behind a tree, watching the whole battle from the ground. Sasuke delivered a hard kick that sent Naruto flying.
Sasuke: Hah!
He ran up to Naruto.
Sasuke: See, you're weak!
He kicked him again, this time sending him out of the forest.
Naruto: I'm... Not... Weak!
He pulled himself up to look at Sasuke. His rage finally boiled over and he ran at him with the intent to beat him to a pulp.
Naruto: Raah!
He was delivering attacks at an alarming rate now and Sasuke had to activate his sharingan just to keep up with him.
Sasuke: *thinking* Where did all this power come from? All I can do is block his attacks.
Taking a closer look, he could see that the whisper marks on Naruto's face had become more prominent and his eyes were now red and cat-like.
Sasuke: *thinking* I guess now I'll get to see if this 'curse mark' really works.
He let the curse mark take over his body and he began to feel more powerful. Now he was attacking as well.
Naruto: *thinking* He got even stronger? And those marks, they're like when he was fighting that guy in the chuunin preliminaries...
The flame-like marks now covered most of Sasuke's body, but Naruto continued fighting as hard as ever. He wasn't going to let that distract him.
Naruto: I'll bring you back, even if I have to break every bone in your body!
Sasuke jumped back a few steps, seemingly retreating. Then, he quickly made some hand signs and took a huge breath.
Sasuke: Fire style, Fireball jutsu!
He blew a giant fireball at Naruto, who simply jumped through it, unharmed.
Sasuke: *thinking* What?! He's not even burnt!
But he had no time to think, Naruto was flying at him with his fist outstretched.
Naruto: Didn't anything we do in Team 7 mean something to you?!
Sasuke blocked his punch then pushed him away.
Sasuke: It wasn't completely useless.
Naruto stopped and looked at him confused, waiting for him to continue.
Sasuke: You became my closest friend.
This only confused Naruto more.
Sasuke: To become stronger, I must break that bond...
Sasuke remembered the fateful night when his older bother had killed his entire clan.
Flashback
Sasuke looked up from his parents dead bodies, their killer standing in front of him. Tears flowed from his eyes.
Young Sasuke: Why, brother? Why did you do it? Mother... Father...
Itachi: To test my abilities...
Sasuke: You killed them all... Just to see how strong you were?
Itachi hesitated for the slightest second at the question, but it went unnoticed.
Itachi: Yes...
Sasuke: Then why... Why keep me alive?
Itachi: Because you aren't worth killing.
Sasuke stood there, frozen in fear but deep down he was bristling with rage and sadness.
Itachi: When you're older, face me. We will see if it was worth keeping you alive. But only face me when you have the same eyes.
Sasuke: H-how...?
Itachi: Go to the Clan's main house. In the meeting room under the 3rd floor panel from the left at the back, there is a secret meeting room. There you will find the secrets of our Clan's eyes. But you can only have truly unlocked the powers behind our eyes if you do one thing...
Sasuke still stood there in shock with tears streaming down his face.
Itachi: Take the life of your closest friend.
Sasuke: *thinking* So does that mean... That he did kill Shisui?
Itachi: Now run, cling to your pathetic life. Resent me, hate me, then we have the same eyes, face me.
Sasuke turned and ran...
End of Flashback
Naruto: I don't know what you're talking about, but I won't let that happen!
Sasuke: Hmph, of course...
Sasuke pulled his Leaf Village headband out of his pocket and tied it to his forehead.
Sasuke: You know, they say that equal shinobi can tell what the other is thinking just by an exchange of fists?
Naruto: So you've finally acknowledged the fact that we're equals.
Sasuke: Heh. You still won't be able to get a scratch on my forehead.
Naruto: Then from now on, let our fists do the talking!
Naruto ran at Sasuke, who in turn ran at him as well.
