Chapter 4
The group had only been traveling for a few minutes when Kiba paused.
Kiba: Everybody stop! I smell something... sniff sniff... There's six scents, two I can recognize. Sasuke and Sakura's.
Naruto: Which way?
Kiba: sniff sniff... About 5 kilometers west from here.
Naruto: Alright, let's go!
Shikamaru: Might I remind you that I'm captain of this mission, Naruto?
Naruto: Yeah, yeah...
...
Tayuya: Somebody's coming!
Sakura looked behind her, but couldn't see anyone.
Tayuya: Five people and a... dog?
Sakura: *thinking* So Kiba's one of them...
She kept glancing at the coffin, expecting something to happen.
Sakura: *thinking* I hope he's alright...
Sakura had surprised herself, she was more concerned about Sasuke than her other teammates.
Sakon: Kidoumarou, set a trap.
Kidoumarou: Got it.
He stopped and set four explosive tags to form a large square. Then, after continuing on a little further, he set a trip wire.
Kidoumarou: That should keep them busy for a while.
...
Kiba: The enemy scent is all over this place!
Shikamaru: Everybody stop. They must have set a trap of some kind.
He looked around for something out of the ordinary.
Shikamaru:There! In the tree.
There was an explosive tag attached to a tree.
Shikamaru: Judging by how Kiba said their scent was everywhere, they must have set more than just a single tag. If we keep going in this direction, we’re probably set off a group of tags that are meant to surround us.
Naruto: So what’re we gonna do?
Kiba: We’ll just have to flank around it.
Shikamaru: Right.
Naruto: Then let’s go!
Naruto had barely taken a few steps when Shikamaru yelled at him.
Shikamaru: Naruto, stop!
Naruto: Whaa?
He stood there with his foot in midair, about to take a step.
Shikamaru: There’s a trip wire there, can’t you see it?
Naruto: Oh yeah... Well then I’ll just step over-
Shikamaru: Wait, no!
Neji quickly reached forward and grabbed the back of Naruto’s collar, mildly strangling him.
Naruto: GACK!
He pulled Naruto back, then looked at Shikamaru.
Neji: What is it?
Shikamaru: There's a second trip wire that’s almost invisible behind the first one.
...
The Sound Four and Sakura had been resting when Kidoumarou felt a tug on one of the strings of web on his fingers.
Kidoumarou: They’re coming, we should get moving.
They all stood and continued on through the forest.
...
Shikamaru: Kiba, how further ahead do you think they are?
Kiba: Not too far...
Naruto: Alright! Let’s go!
He jumped ahead of every one else and they almost lost sight of him.
Shikamaru: Naruto!... Uhg, he can be so troublesome. We better follow him, make sure he doesn’t go too far over his head.

Sakura had fallen slightly behind the Four and turned to look behind her when she heard yelling.
Naruto: Hey! Where do you think you’re going? Where’s Sasuke? Sakura, answer me!
Sakura: Get lost, Naruto.
She turned away from him and jumped further ahead to join the Four. He was a little hurt, but continued after her. Tayuya turned to look at their pursuer.
Tayuya: Ha! You’re just a little genin!
Shikamaru and the rest of Naruto’s team had caught up to him now.
Shikamaru: Naruto, stop! We should come up with a plan first.
Naruto: They’ve got Sasuke hidden somewhere and Sakura’s with them, we can’t stop!
The Sound Four and Sakura had now stopped and faced the Leaf ninja.
Sakon: You really think you can just stop us and take the Uchiha back whenever you want? Yeah, right!
Tayuya: We don’t have time to stop now. Jiroubou, you stay behind and take care of these little genin, we’ll go on ahead. Gimme Sasuke.
Jiroubou: Y’know, most girls are polite...
Tayuya: Like I care!
Jiroubou passed the coffin, with Sasuke inside, to Tayuya then turned to face the Leaf ninja. Tayuya used the large rope she had as a belt to tie the coffin to her back. Sakura didn’t look back as her old teammates stopped to face the large Sound ninja.
Jiroubou: I think I’ll have a good meal from you guys. Earth Barrier-Clay Prison!
Suddenly, all the Leaf ninja were surrounded by a dome of rock.
Naruto: Hey! Let us out!
Jiroubou: Not gonna happen!
Naruto: Shadow Clone Jutsu!
His teammates watched as the two Narutos formed a swirling ball of chakra.
Naruto: Rasengan!
Kiba: *thinking* So that’s his new jutsu he wanted to show off...
Naruto slammed the Rasengan into the wall, where it made a large indent. But soon the indent was recovering and there was once again just a solid wall of rock.
Naruto: What the-?! Fine, I’ll just try it again!
But again it was to no avail. It seems the wall would rebuild itself after every hit.
Kiba: We’ll have a go, come on Akamaru! Man-Beast Mimicry, Fang over Fang!
They watched as the two Kibas drilled numerous holes all over the dome, but it had the same effect. Neji had activated his Byakugan and was examining the walls.
Neji: It seems that he’s using chakra to keep the walls reforming.
Shikamaru was sitting on the ground in his thinking position, thinking. Chouji was eating a bag of chips that he seemed to have pulled out of nowhere.
Naruto: Shadow Clone Jutsu!
A shadow clone appeared but then disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Naruto slumped to the ground.
Naruto: I feel like I’m getting weaker...
Neji: Byakugan!
He looked at all of his comrades, who were now sitting on the ground, becoming more and more exhausted. He looked more closely and could see chakra flowing right out of their bodies.
Neji: It appears that he is somehow sucking out all our chakra.
Shikamaru had opened his eyes.
Chouji: munch munch*thinking* He must have come up with a plan. munch munch
Shikamaru: Kiba, hit all the sides of the dome again.
Kiba: Got it. Akamaru, take a soldier pill!
Both Akamaru and Kiba then ate a soldier pill.
Kiba: Man-Beast Mimicry, Fang over Fang!
Shikamaru watched the walls closely after the two Kibas drilled holes all over. Then they began to repair themselves, as usual.
Kiba: It’s no use!
Akamaru whined.
Shikamary: It’s just as I thought.
Everyone else was confused.
Shikamaru: If he was using his chakra to reform the walls, he must be standing on one side. The chakra would get thinner and weaker as it gets farther away from him. I didn’t know where he was standing, so I needed Kiba to hit all the sides. The spot where the walls took the longest to reform, that’s where his chakra is weakest.
Naruto had to think it through a few times for it to sink in.
Shikamaru: Kiba, if you hit the weakest point with the Fang over Fang, then Chouji hits it with the Human Boulder, we should be able to break through. Do you have enough chakra left?
Kiba: Yeah, but only enough for one last hit.
Chouji: Definatly, why do you think I’ve been eating?
Shikamaru: *thinking* If Kiba only has one shot left, I’ll have to find some other way to pinpoint the weakest spot. *talking* Neji, can you find where the chakra is weakest?
Neki: Byakugan!
He could see the chakra laced through the rock like fabric. He could tell where the “threads” were getting thinner closer to where Chouji was standing. He pointed to where the “threads” were thinnest.
Neji: Over there.
Shikamaru: Alright. Kiba, Chouji, you know what to do.
Kiba: Man-Beast Mimicry, Fang over Fang!
Chouji: Partial Expansion Jutsu, Human Boulder!
BOOM BOOM CRASH
The dome began to crumble and Kiba and Chouji kept attacking until it fell. They were free at last.
Jiroubou: How did you...?
Chouji: You guys go on ahead, I can take this guy.
Shikamaru: You sure, Chouji?
Chouji: Yes. Naruto, you need to save your friends. Someone has to stay and fight this guy.
Naruto: Alright, but we won’t wait for ya!
Shikamaru: You’ll do great, I have faith in you.
Chouji smiled, then turned to face Jiroubou.
Chouji: Now, go! You don’t want to lose them!
Chouji watched his friends disappear into the trees, then turned back to Jiroubou.
Jiroubou:Well it looks like it’s just you and me, fatty!
Chouji: I’m not fat!! I’M JUST PLUMP!!
And with that, the battle began.
