The Uchiha clan was NOT weak

I've been seen lately the argument that the Uchiha clan was nothing special because Itachi (and Tobi) killed them all. This would be true if Itachi did this in a straight-up fight. He didn't.

Itachi killed a bunch of people who would never expect it from him in their sleep, or at least more or less unaware that they were in danger. Maybe a few caught on and put up a fight, but there is no way that this applies to even a majority of the clan. And even with the advantage so heavily in his favor, Sasuke still says that Itachi couldn't have done it alone. It took two top tier ninjas to take down the Uchiha clan using more or less the most underhanded method possible.

Well,I'm not saying they were weak,because if they were,leaf wouldn't have to worry about their coup....but they werent much strong either,their weakness were they themselves,ie weakness of an uchiha is another uchiha with better eyes .
One thing is sure,all those who're shown dead on the streets,were surely not sleeping...so its wrong to say that itachi & the other guy were able to defeat them because they were asleep.....many actually fought these 2,but the eye techniques of these 2 were way advanced than others & thats why the clan lost.

no shit shirlock. if the uchiha were weak edo madara wouldn't be completely owning ass right now. how the extermination was carried out it was clear that the uchiha were the only ones capable of competinf for control of konoha. you dont see the hyuuga or aburami clans causing any waves do you? cause they cant.
