I like the other theory better about Sasuke gaining other abilities. It is more logically thought. And some, if not all, of your analogies are waaaay off.

the only thing that does not make any sense is how is he going to surpass the SO6P/Rinnegan

in DBZ we didn't have anything to base Goku off of other than he had to become as powerful as his enemies to beat them(basically)....

In naruto we base everything off of how powerful the SO6P was(being able to create and destroy) well Naruto has half of that DNA and Sasuke has the other half so even if he gets rinnegan by getting both DNA he cant be as powerful as SO6P bacause Edo Madara has both Senju and Uchiha DNA and Rinnegan and has not surpassed SO6P and cannot create and destroy......

I just dont see how Sasuke will get powers beyond Edo Madara....

He will get a power up, of course, but a doujutsu more advanced than rinnegan, which was wielded by So6P himself is highly unlikely. Unless there are secrets about So6P's ocular powers not revealed yet, that is.
