After reading threads comparing Itachi to the likes of Hashi, Madara and Nagato, I got p*ssed so I just have to state some facts to the Itachi fans. First let's analyse Itachi's most powerful Jutsu
1.Tsukyomi-A very powerful genjutsu which manipulates space-time, but obviously an experienced ninja wouldn't fall for it as it requires eye to eye contact, and even 3 tomoe sasuke broke out of it, so saying tsukyomi one shots anybody is an illogical statement, its not like he would get the chance to use it if he encounters a really powerful shinobi.
2.Amaterasu-Even sasuke was playing catch up with it with his normal speed, which proves it can be deceived if you move away with speed right before it touches you, but itachi fans make it sounds like it sets one ablaze instantly, he needs focus and he sends the fire to his target, he doesn't just set his target ablaze by looking at them.
3.Susanoo-All hyped up in its introduction like every other technique, it has been shown that the sausanoo can be broken, and even gaara pulled madara out of susanoo, not to mention his suasnoo is as fast as a tortoise which makes its attack and movement easy to foresee, only problem been the power of the attacks. It has yata mirror and totsuka blade, Yata mirror which is said to negate attacks(but like itachi himself said "every jutsu has a weakness) and the totsuka blade which is a variant of the sword of kusanagi(which didn't pierce through 4 tail naruto), but its attack are not instant but actually slow like itachi's susanoo itslef. But overall the susanoo isn't something he can maintain for long because of his poor stamina, in other words any shinobi who can see off the susanoo has more than a fair chance at winning.
4.Finger genjutsu-Itachi fans are fond of saying just a finger is enough. You can't compare this genjutsu to the tsukyomi, as the only person he has used it against is Naruto, who even almost broke out of it with itachi commenting that he wasn't strong enough and that was a very weak naruto. Nuff said
5.Izanami-He only opted for this against kabuto because he was in edo mode, this is not a jutsu he can use freely cause it means loosing a eye(which means one of amaterasu or tsukyomi is gone), and itachi said another reason the jutsu couldn't be used in an actual battle was because it had an easy escape, not to mention it won't work on pure hearted shinobis.
6.Intelligence-This only counts when you are on par with a dumb opponent or slightly weaker than a dumb opponent, so as long as your opponent is smart to a degree and clearly overpowers you, I don't see how you won't lose(you can ask shikamaru and Kakashi)
Now these are itachi's main strength, with these stated I don't see how itachi would be compared to the likes of Nagato, Hashi, Madara..(The list goes on) with all sincerity, I think itachi is at most on Jiraiya's level.
