Calculate the total ninja population of Konoha?
At least 16,000. Maybe even 20,000.
Evidence? The joint shinobi force has a strength of 80,000. And Konoha is one of the largest if not the largest village.
What would be the total population of Konoha?
Let us assume that about 50% of the population only fights. Remember, the administrative staff, workers, traders, old men and children of the village don't take part in the fight. So the total strength. So the population of Konoha should be at least 30,000 people.
What would the population density of Konoha be?
At least 50 per sq. km. May be 100. At the most 200. Definitely not more than this. Why? This is a village setting. There is a lot of backyard space. So even 200 is a very high estimate. The world population density is more like 15 per sq km. Anyway, let us make it 300, so that you won't nit pick.
Calculate the area of Konoha village?
30,000 people over 300 = at least 100 square kilometre. If you construct a square 10 km long and 10 km wide, that is about Konoha. Sounds too less, but lets go with this. 100 sq km = 100million square metre.
Now let us go ahead and study ONE jutsu that Nagato used. Chibaku Tensei. This destroyed the whole Konoha village. Since this works on gravity principle, the amount of dirt removed must be at least 5 metre deep.
So basically Konoha village was turned to rubbles by applying enough force to disturb 500 million cubic metre of soil and rock. 1 cubic metre of water weighs 1000 kilograms.
Let us make a reasonable assumption that the amount of energy required to disturb 1 cubic metre of mud = amount of energy required to carry 1 cubic metre of water. This is a really reasonable assumption!
Then what is the real world equivalent of Nagato's accomplishment. Hold your breath. It is AT LEAST equal to carrying 500 BILLION litres or kilograms of water! That is the amount of water Mississippi unloads into an ocean over 2.5 days. That's less than the amount of all HUMANS on this planet need for drinking for 6 months!
And Nagato wasn't even at his prime when he did this. He had overused his abilities and his flesh was dying.
I am not a Nagato fan boy, I actually am an Itachi fan. But this task of smashing a village like Konoha makes him one of the MOST powerful ninja ever to step foot in Narutoverse.
Someone like Itachi would be destroyed by Nagato, when he is 5 kilometres far away.
What can Deva Path do against Itachi?
Step 1: Close eyes to avoid Tsukiyomi. Every other genjutsu will be neutralised by the sheer force of Chibaku Tensei. Because Genjutsu can be dispelled by physical trauma, and Chibaku Tensei causes physical trauma due to powerful shrapnel flying around.
Step 2: Throw a powerful Chibaku Tensei sphere vertically up.
Step 3: Watch everything in a 8 kilometre radius suck up including the DEVA Path itself!
After all it took a TBB+F:RasenShuriken+Magatama to destroy the sphere. Three of the most powerful ninja. A perfect jinchuriki, one of the first user to combine shape+element manipulation, and one of the most elite Itachi in edotensei mode were required to stop this sphere.
