Hey Shinta sama/sensei/sempai/susanoo/kun... Yeah... something like that....

Dat sound, which i kinda had to have, cause couldn't have an edo... or kumi... so sound yeah... i mean maybe i can scream like a dragon with this?

Anyway....

I figured i'd be THAT guy and skip the first step by just posting what i know about sound? That cool? Course it is U_U

Sound is broken down into three parts:

Genjutsu: These sound waves travel legit at the normal speed of sound, if someone hears it, they are bound in the illusion as the sound is a medium. Great example is ma and pa.

Hindering: These sound waves are similar to the genjutsu soundwaves, they hit and have their desired effect. For example, forest of death, Lee's balance being thrown off and bleeding from his ears, hindering him.

Destructive: Basically, waves that are like pulses, move a bit quicker than wind, can destroy shit. This is my fave bit.

Wind can disrupt sound waves so sound is weak to wind.

Sound strong to crystaline objects, legit like crystal (3 tails arc was dope), it's amplified through water also

It has supplementary uses, for example, the inner sonar skill to enhance your own hearing as a form of sensing <3

We'll start with the only non-character-exclusive D-rank jutsu... then we'll get through the C-ranks in the next post.

(Ototon: Naiteki Ne no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Inner Sonar Skill
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10 (-1 per turn)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will enhance their hearing by infusing his ears with sound chakra. Then, by utilizing chakra and enfacing his lungs, the user will be able to control the frequency and intensity of the sound emitted from his simple breathing. This low frequency, inaudible sound is passively emitted and has no effect other than emerging from him and bouncing off of objects. Using the enhanced hearing, the user is able to know where everything is around them, effectively creating a sonar effect through the rebound and reflection of sound waves. The hearing and the sonar effect is precise enough so that one can effectively use it to substitute one's vision in battle if needed. Despite being very effective, specially if the user has any of his other senses hindered, it also leaves the user vulnerable to sound genjutsu or sound attacks which will be much more drastic in its effects.
Note: Lasts 6 turns

Funny you mentioned the Inner Sonar Skill in your opening post... maybe because it's one of the most used sensing abilities or just that it's the ability you wanted Sound for? xD

This technique has two aspects to it; the actual hearing boost and your humming the is aimed to replicate sonar. So if you could now analyse the tech and bring to me any questions you may have about it ^^

Though right here, I'll point out the obvious flaw with this tech: it leaves you very open to loud noises and the effects of other sound-based attacks would deal significantly more damage to yourself. In terms of actual health numbers, I'd say not only would you be rendered deaf from loud-sound release techs, but you would suffer the critical-hit penalty whilst this tech is active. Though maybe it's best to check that with an RP mod or the Green RP mod O__O?

I wanted sounds to scream likea dragon to break stuff, but this be hella useful for fighting Hyabusa as it allows you to enhance a basic of five senses.

You can hide your breathing for the most part, that way wont drive you made with your enhanced hearing. Second is basically sonar in the same way a submarine uses sonar to map out the ocean.

Critical hit makes sense to be fair. You're basically a lightning rod in a thunder storm witht his, if you're gonna get hit by a loud sound, you're gonna be hit hard.

I legit think a screamed in a tai fight once, might of been against crutch. I was using my uchiha, he closed his eyes and used this tofight back, so i legit just screamed dead loud as a distraction... bit like Naruto farting to counter inuzuka i guess.

How... would this work against the silent fist of the seven heavenly breaths? not that anyone uses them like....

So the silent fist is able to negate all sound from the users body, meaning that you won't be able to hear any sound they make: be it breathing, footsteps, ninja tools in their bag etc. However, if they use a ranged attack, that would make a sound once it leaved the immediate proximity of the user as it would not be cloaked in the chakra.

That make sense to you?

The fact is, i got it from the show... natsu was against cobra, dragon slayer that hears everything, so cant hit him, natsu legit screamed as loud as a dragon to win... wild xd

The first jutsu is a safer method of inner sonar to be fair... you can sense with sound, but don't put yourself at risk in the same way. I mean the infusing cutting kinda stuff is cool, but i prefer the other application of sensing. How long does the frequency vibration last for once it hits something? That turn?

Second is just a clap shockwave to break stuff, nothing special, can look cosmetically cool...

Right gonna do 3 techs at a time, because I believe youre advanced enough to understand the concepts most of them apply and work through.

Sonic fist is a taijutsu based application of sound release, where in by you gather the chakra into a body part and upon contact with the opponent discharge the sound chakra which then gets transferred into the opponents muscles. Capable of paralyzing limbs for one turn as the sound reverberates through the water within the blood and muscles. This can also be used with solid ninjutsu such as earth, to use the vibrations to tear apart the solid contruct.

(Ototon: Oto no Ken) - Sound Release: Sonic Fist

A sound based genjutsu, that is based around the large sound the environment can make when changing. As explained in the technique itself, something like a large branch snapping, earth tearing away, potentially even something such as a lightning strike could be used. Great way to force your opponent to move, throw them off guard as its like all sound based genjutsu, instant.

(Ototon: Oto no Ken) - Sound Release: Sonic Fist - Simple but effective for beating on people. I'd use it when someone goes block,hopefully they try to defend with an earth based jutsu. I mean lets face it, if you get up close, use water, they fall for the fade, use earth to defend and you just break through it with this. Nice enhancement.

(Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill - Basically scream for damage, soundwaves get weaker as they travel, stronger in water but, i aint really a water user if i'm honest. The great thing is it's no handseals and if you're bound, you can scream with this to create an opening and so on. Make use of all limbs and your voice really. Water really is a great medium though, inc aquaman bio O_<

( Ototon Genjutsu: Funka to Botsuraku ) - Sound Release Illusionary Art: Eruption and Downfall - Screw the people who can see through visual gen, sound gen is dope. A situational gen at best though, like it depends on the set up for them to be in a tree at the right time and not break the timeframe etc. Like you need to take full advantage of the situation and terrain, but that is something i generally prefer anyway as you saw in our last fight.

Indeed, and sonic fist, even used to block incoming taijutsu can cause damage to opponents while youre blocking.

Right next techs;
Whisper of canines, an impairment ninjutsu, great for masking sound and creating diversions. Id say that it would block out most sounds outside of short range of the opponent, but that also depends on the sound as well. A small pop like a balloon may not be heard in short range, but as described a loud explosion would.

Ototon: Teisei Tame Inu) - Sound Release: Whispers to the Canines

He then whistles, releasing a high frequency sound wave, creating a sound similar to a faint buzzing in the target's ear, similar to Ringing Madness. However, instead of causing a foe to become disoriented, it impairs his hearing, making the buzzing the only thing that he can hear, seeming as if the target has bees swimming around his ear. The buzzing drowns any sound out, unless they are exceptionally loud (i.e. great explosions, one yelling directly into the target's ear, etc), making it very difficult for the target to hear incoming jutsus or attacks.
Note: Hearing impairment lasts 3 turns


Scream of despair (boy these names are down huh?) once again similar to echo assualt, a more powerful voice based attack. This one however is omnidirecitonal instead of just focused like a cone.

(Ototon: Himei Zetsubou no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Scream of Despair Skill

Description: Similar to the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill, the user concentrates chakra into their vocal cords, amplifying his/her voice and lets out a scream, roar or a yell. The effect is a large emission of low frequency, high amplitude sound waves but instead of a forward attack, its manipulated into an omnidirectional sound blast that expands outwards all around the user, pushing attacks and enemies backwards with might.

Id describe this one as a hindering soundwave as well, more specifically for RP purposes than anything, but a useful paralysis technique more than anything. Also capable of detonating explosive tag traps too.

( Ototon: Namida Sanjō no Jutsu ) - Sound Release: Calling on Tears Technique

( Ototon: Namida Sanjō no Jutsu ) - Sound Release: Calling on Tears Technique - Imagine telling a sad story in the rp and then you start crying... then bam... they can't move lmao. That's would be pretty funny. But crying triggering explosive tags is next level aha

Very good.

On to A ranks.

A greater version of Echo Assault, up to Long range with more damage. This technique however has to be focused into a 50* arc, it cannot be omnidirectional. The larger scale makes it slightly slower as well, but still great without handseals.

(Ototon: Ōkī Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Greater Echo Assault Skill

Description: This is a much greater and focused version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Unlike its weaker technique, the massive power it carries makes it slightly slower, equal to an average equally ranked Raiton technique. Unlike the unfocused nature of its weaker version, its focused almost like a beam, affecting an area of 50º in front of the user. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.


This is actually a really great useful jutsu, Ive just thought of a CJ with maybe Ill have to pick up Sound for! But effectively, as a one off for the turn, you can push everything infront of you backwards, in a 160* arc, as you clap your hands together. Imagine that youre aiming the clap fowards, so that youre not thrown backwards by the sound as well.

A greater version of Echo Assault, up to Long range with more damage. This technique however has to be focused into a 50* arc, it cannot be omnidirectional. The larger scale makes it slightly slower as well, but still great without handseals.

This is actually a really great useful jutsu, Ive just thought of a CJ with maybe Ill have to pick up Sound for! But effectively, as a one off for the turn, you can push everything infront of you backwards, in a 160* arc, as you clap your hands together. Imagine that youre aiming the clap fowards, so that youre not thrown backwards by the sound as well.

(Ototon: Ōkī Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Greater Echo Assault Skill - Clap and create a shockwave using sound, i mean, not the most complicated. 160 degrees infront of you sooo... yeah... reminds me of that one girl from xmen 3, on the bridge, claps her hands... stops all the projectiles...

( Ototon: Jakkuhanma ) - Sound Release: Jackhammer - Basically you're running using sound to mimic world shaking that actually resonates in their body causing damage and makes them lose balance. I mean they can escape through like avoiding the ground but, one question, if you're stood on water, can you use this? Sad it doesn't say it gets a buff that way, as the water would then be used as a medium.

Another advatange of sound based taijutsu this is a stronger version of the sonic punch from before, except that the trade of for damage, is that they do not paralyze the limb. Again, like most sound ninjutsu, effective against solid based physical attacks.

(Ototon: Shinsei) - Sound Release: Divinity - This is almost like a sneak attack at it's finest. As you release the waves on contactt, it's like you could let them punch you, release the sound waves and shatter their arm within. Glorious xd

(Ototon: Takanari Kichigai) - Sound Release: Ringing Madness - great way to start a fight, speech no jutsu followed up with hindering them over time. Builds up effects over turns, reducting the damage they do by -5 per turn, not much but better than nothing and the extra chakra cost would hinder them.

( Ototon: Midasu no koe ) Sound Release: The voice of Midas - clap and paralysis when they hear it, pain to them at the same time, their ears bleed, whats not to love. Can openly mock them clapping and bam... trapped xd

(Ototon Genjutsu: Banshī no te de gōmon no seiki) Sound Release Illusionary Art: A Century of Torture at the Hands of a Banshee - Whistle or make constant sound to cause constant pain. But it's an illusion. I mean i still think the toad song is a better gen haha. You can't even layer another gen with this unless you do that gen first. Might be that i cast a gen by looking at someone with my MS while then a moment later make this sound... hmmm most effective with an ally or clone... or edo...

(Ototon: Ōkibo na Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Massive Echo Assault Skill - The longer the range, the thinner the area of effect really, choose range or size i guess. stronger version of the previous versions.
