Are you referring to Rin's death? She was a loved one.
And Madara's motivation was Izuna. A loved one too.
They only differ in gender and association. The first was a girl and a romantic interest. The second was a brother.

Obito got friendzone, Rin never loved him, so in other word he's only thinking about 13 years old kid as in adult, and I hate to say this but he's a pedo.
He only lost one thing, it doesn't make you enough to descend into a darkness where Kakashi in other hand lost everyone he truly adores.

I was very upset that Tobi was Obito, plot no jutsu, but it hasn't made me hate the manga. As much as I dislike Obito, his character is most def one of the most interesting.
Why else would you introduce a completely new character behind the mask of Tobi?
imo, Obito was the greatest addition to the series, plus the recent chapter was enjoyable.

Again, a loss is still a loss. Madara and Obito both underwent through the stages of loss and grieving. At some point they got stuck somewhere.
Then you must not have met enough people who are so deep down that rabbit hole thay they had ineffective coping mechanisms and eventually led to a fixation to a point in their life where everything they hold dear was tangible and present and real. That does not make him a pedo. Pedophilia is a sexual disorder while Ineffective coping is not.
And don't even get me started with Kakashi, he's my most favorite character and the character I can 100% relate to.

By the way, I don't hate the series, and yes the last couples months or so I've been all hyped up for since madara revival cause I thought shit finally got real, capturing the sense of danger, and more mysterious person shows up, so much stuff to be answered.
Naruto is still my favorite series, I'm just being analytical giving brief thought, cause last year was boring and downfall for naruto.
He's only enjoyable because we all assumed he was dead, giving suspense, again I don;t have problem with revelation, the problem is afterward.
Madara is alot much more reasonable to become a villain than Obito . It's not only he lost his only brother but Madara suffer cause of losing the trust of becoming an Uchiha leader, wasn't qualify to becoming Hokages, he find no hope for the world the way he wants to.
Obito just wants wants to get Rin thats what he wants
