Agreed. They can spin this whole thing however they like, but it won't change the fact that it's hella forced, knowing Naruto's character.

The whole bad dad thing with Naruto is just too forced. Why not keep a shadow clone in the office if stuff there is that important (makes no sense btw) while his real self goes to his daughter's event? Relaxed and stress free Naruto = Shadow clone lasts longer.

I know they want to milk the series, but this method just seems like lazy writing to me. Nevertheless, great thread. Makes me actually want to see the episode.

its crazy how a man who can literally be in a million places at once cant be by his family's side for literally 1 hour out of the year.

It's not like he can't plan ahead for it. Since it happens the same exact time every year.

It's not like he cant put a clone on desk duty since even during war time tsunade still found time to get wasted.

Its not like he doesn't know the pain of rejection.

But he still aint there.

Spent his whole life trying to be acknowledged by the ppl and now he cant even acknowledge his son.

Sure he was pissed that Naruto missed his birthday but he got over it. He didn't make much drama about it either.

Well, it’s kinda in his character.

Dude never knew love until Hinata

Dude didn’t have family until Iruka and Sasuke

He’s doing pretty good for a good who had no prior understanding of family or children.


It’s kinda like having a person who never had siblings before, babysit vs someone who had siblings or helped take care of them.


Naruto lives by that “no shortcuts” shit when it comes to hokage.

He dropped everything when Himawari was sick. But he misses birthdays. He gives them gifts and protects them, but he gives them his back.


Himawari and Boruto learning to endure the same with Hinata, Sakura and Sarada.

Naruto and Sasuke are just too important to the world. To the ones saying he can make clones. That’s still a mentally tasking thing to do. Naruto is peak physical, but we know he’s not known for being smart.

I think the Hokage role didn’t show enough of what they actually do. The Boruto series captured it pretty well.
