Chapter Two: The Sacred Stone
Yugimara: What is this? Why did they betray us?
Hyunimara: I'm not sure what this means. Captain, what about our men? How will we get to them?
Hyunimara:*clinches his fist in anger* There's nothing we can do about it now. The only thing we can do now lieutenant is it to try and defend against these Batawama and then try to make it to HQ to get some answers, it still doesn't make sense that they knew our route, I smell a rat, I hate rats.
Hyunimara: Captain, can you move?
Yugimara: I've been fighting wars since I was 12, a little wound like this one won't keep me down.
Yugimara pulled out the arrow from his shoulder and stood up with only a little pain showing on his face.
Yugimara: Hmm...they seem to have stopped there assault completely, Lieutenant!!
Hyunimara: I'm on it Captain.
Hyunimara quickly dashed from one tree to another, once he got no reaction from the Batawama, he let the light of his sword show from behind the tree, he then stepped out into the opening.
Hyunimara: Captain, they have retreated.
Yugimara: What the hell? What was their purpose, to kill a few foot soldiers?
Hyunimara: I don't know Captain, but we were heading to save our men before they interrupted us.
Yugimara: But even so lieutenant, why would they reveal their betrayal just so a few Yamadara wouldn't be saved?
Hyunimara: .....
Yugimara: Were going to notify HQ, grab a horse and let's go.
As they begun heading down the road to HQ, they saw a warrior in all black armor, he had his spear in his hand ready to attack.
Hyunimara: Black armor? It's another Uga!!
Yugimara: Not just any Uga, that's Captain Shunsin of the Spear, and it appears that he was expecting us.
The moment they came within Shunsin's reach, he extended his spear which is 9'0" long, he aimed it directly at Yugimara's chest, the speed was too fast for him to use his sword to block due to the injury in his shoulder. He thought fast and used his horse by making it rise up on its back hooves, it went through the horse but missed Yugimara. He fell straight on his back, Hyunimara then proceeded to draw his sword, Shunsin then swung his spear with the horse still on it at Hyunimara, knocking him clear off his horse.
As Yugimara started to rise from his feet, Shunsin threw the horse off his spear at Yugimara. Yugimara split the horse in two, but only to see the tip of Shunsin's spear coming directly at his face, it was too close and he didn't have time to react.
Hyunimara: NOOOOOO!!!
Hyunimara saw lots of blood dripping from Yugimara's shoulder, he then heard Yugimara chuckle, to his surprise and the surprise of Shunsin, Yugimara had caught the spear in his mouth and stoppd the full velocity of Shunsin's attack in its tracks. Though it did cause him to greatly aggravate his wounded shoulder.
Hyunimara: Captain!!
Yugimara: Stay out of this, this is my fight.
Shunsin: So this is the mighty Yugimara.
Yugimara then bit down on the spear, breaking the blade in his mouth. He quickly closed the distance, trying not to give Shunsin anytime to pull out the second spear on his back or that is what Shunsin thought at least. Shunsin immediately pulled out the spear on his back and attempted to stab it at Yugimara's chest, Yugimara then let his shorter sword fly at shunsin's head while jumping onto his spear using his weight to force him to lose his balance. Shunsin was just fast enough to move his head out of the way of the sword, but coming from above was Yugimara with his longer sword with the intent on slicing him in two.
Shunsin then pulled another spear out of the one he was holding and blocked the attack from above,Yugimara landed on his feet with his arms high in the air bearing down on Shunsin's spear trying to get through Shunsin's defense, Yugimara and Shunsin was now staring into each others cold eyes.
Shunsin: You have an injured shoulder, just give it up.
Yugimara: *grins*
Yugimara then spit out a blade shard from the spear he had broken from his mouth earlier, It pierced Shunsin deep in his left eye, knowing the danger he was in, he moved most of his body out of the way of Yugimara's blade, but Yugimara still cut off his right arm.
Hyunimara: *laughs* Well, I'm not surprised, he is known as one of the most clever in battle.
Shunsin: *laughs* Well, I guess this makes it even.
Yugimara: ....
Hyunimara: *thinks to himself* This guy thinks having one arm and a missing eye is even?
Yugimara: It is over Shunsin, just give it up.
Shunsin: Oh, I don't know about that Captain
Yugimara: What are you talking about?
Shunsin: Well, you see, you were cut by my spear when you stopped it with your mouth, correct? You have been effected with my poison, I say you now have about 20 minutes before you drop dead.
Hyunimara: What?!! You little...
Yugimara: Quiet Lieutenant, so why are you telling me all this?
Shunsin: *laughs* The antidote is about five miles west of here, it's buried underneath a tree that has the words "antidote" carved into it. It's the biggest tree in the area, you can't miss it.
Yugimara: Again, why are you telling me all this?
Shunsin: You only have twenty minutes, better get going if you don't want to die. And before you go, I want you to kill me, I have lost. I am a warrior, this is how I lived my entire life, my life IS war. With only one arm and a blinded eye, I can't live the life I love anymore, I am already dead.
Yugimara: *gives a long silence* very well Shunsin of the Spear.
They were now racing through the woods, they were on Hyunimara's horse even though there was a horse with Shunsin, Yugimara's wounds were too serious for him to ride a horse on his own. His face was now turning purple from the poison, there was only 7 minute left. But they were close now, as they could now see the big tree that Shunsin referred to.
Hyunimara: This is it captain, just hold on a little longer.
Yugimara: ....Yeah
Yugimara ran to the tree, dropped on his knees, and started digging with his hands as fast as he could, he knew the exact spot to dig because of the fresh dirt that had recently been dug up. He found the antidote not long after he had started.
Hyunimara: Captain, go ahead and drink this.
Yugimara: I never knew an antidote could taste so good, I'm actually feeling better already.
He then put his captain on the horse and proceeded to HQ, it took him about two hours to get there, and he was riding as fast as he could, after all, the captain was still injured and needed medical attention. But the poison had been cured.
Hyunimara: We need a medic immediately!! Captain Yugimara is seriously injured!!
The medics came rushing right away and took him to the medic room, the commander whose name was Lee came up to the lieutenant.
Lee: What happened out there?
Hyunimara: We were betrayed by the Batawama!!
Lee: What?!! Are you sure about this?
Hyunimara Yes.
Lee: Well what makes you so sure?
Yugimara: There are few with that accuracy, trust me, I've seen the Batawama in action before, I'v been fighting for years.
Hyunimara: What are you doing out of bed? You should be resting.
Lee: Yes, you should be resting.
Yugimara: NO!! I need an answer as to why the Batawama would reveal their betrayal just to stop us from going east to rescue a pinned down team. HQ must know something.
Lee: Wait, weren't you guys fighting in the south? Why were you heading east?
Yugimara: I just said to save a team in the east, we got word from the main HQ to do so.
Lee: There was never a team in the east.
Hyunimara and Yugimara: WHAT!!?
