The Rock or Stone Cold

The Rattlesnake or The People's Champion?

I honestly think it's a tie as far as who's better. They both have tons of charisma and a ton of success outside of sports entertainment.

You are not being fair because you're not comparing them in their primes. You're comparing who's the most in-shape in 2012 and who's more popular in 2012?

Also, your friend is racist :| Personally, I always say that people may not like Stone Cold or The Rock but if you're a WWF/WWE and yet you don't recognize their impact in WWE, then you never knew how awesome Attitude Era was..

Sure, The Rock was already in his league before Stone Cold but Stone Cold main-evented almost all PPVs for almost 3 years; despite Rock's presence. The rare times when Rock main-evented something back then was against Stone Cold most notably.

Check this and you'd know that even if The Rock was already someone Iconic, Stone Cold was the Ruler.

The Rock got many catchphrases because he's a master in trash-talk and taking jabs. Stone Cold is more badass. Despite his almost on-par mic skills, he's straight to the point and follows up with a volley of swearwords. IMO, Stone Cold perhaps have recited more impactful words than The Rock but since each swearworded promos can't become popular, it was never advertised as such.

I think there's two nicknames that define both of them perfectly. Stone Cold as "The Toughest Son of a Bitch in the WWF" and The Rock as "The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment". This confirms that The Rock does promos for the crowd and thus is more entertaining. However, Stone Cold's promos are bloody hell cold and straight-forward. There are so many who became mute after a Stone Cold's promo.

Still, Stone-Cold got 2 of the biggest catchphrases -"3:16" and "What?". There's not a single crowd that never chanted "What?". Sure, nowadays, it's more of "Yes, Yes, Yes!!!" but What will never fade ever. Also, there may millions and millions of iconic promos that The Rock cut but I never saw him cut one better than this one.

This promo is rated among the most iconic one by many critics. Sure, The Rock got numerous epic ones but for this time, quality thumps quantity. Tell me if there's someone who think of the Bible when they heard 3:16. 3:16 is greater than Do You Smell... And "That's the Bottom Line..." is on the same level as "It Doesn't Matter What you Think"

Also, The Rock may have face Lesnar, Hogan, Goldberg and even Cena but whatsoever, I'm sure Stone Cold would have done the same if he was there at that time. Stone Cold got the merits to feature in THE greatest feud of them all. Rock v/s Hogan, Rock v.s Cena, Rock v/s DX ect... are all feuds but none are up to the level of Stone Cold v/s The Corporation. And last reminder, Stone Cold leads 2-1 against The Rock at Wrestlemania.
lmfaoo listen here now....

you put up a great series of arguements for Stone Cold and i cant refute them. i agree with oyu whole heartedly and i love Stone Cold. in fact it was Stone Cold who led the attitude era, if it wasnt for Stone Cold there would be no Rock. the Rock was influenced by Stone Cold, Rock started out as a babyface, as what John Cena is today, mr goody goody, and everyone hated him for it. then Rock took a page out of Stone Colds book and started talking shit lol

Stone Cold is the face of the attitude era and like i said its only because he left that the Rock was able to take control. they both were competeing for number 1 during their times and feuds. their rivalry is legendary, forget HHH and Undertaker or Cena and Edge or Hogan and Andre. its Rock and Stone Cold that would always be the best top feud for me.

but like i said in my post i put Rock as the better because the Rock is still making moves, competeting, making epic movies and being the most electrigying man while Stone Cold physically cannot do any of that anymore, and dont take it when i said that before that i was making fun of him, it saddens me that he cant compete.

i would love if Stone Cold came back. hell Rock did, Brock did, Hogan and Ric Flair do it every other year or something like that. i would love to see Cena or better yet Randy Orton go up agaisnt Austin. imagine the Viper vs the Rattlesnake.....

i havent played the last few wrestling games in the past several years but i know that every year both the Rock and Stone COld are in the games as playable characters even tho they havent competed because they both epic

i love them both but i like the Rock just a lil bit more cuz he always had me rolling, he has swag, charisma, jokes for days, the Rock can call you a "kung pow chicken bitch" and everyone will laugh at you and "kung pow chicken" will be trnding worldwide ALL because the Rock said it. and thats gotta be the lamest joke to call someone too lol

but like you said Austin was badass, the most badass in wwe history i think. cursed, flipped the bird and drank beer during the show. a few weeks ago they tried to strip CM Punk the title because they thought he was drunk and i was thinking, "i wish these bitches tried some bullshit like that on Stone Cold" lol he'd give a stunner to everyone even the cops

but anyways im just babbling now reminincing in the good old days during Attitude Era. i miss both the Rock and Stone Cold.

but imo Rock better lol and it doesnt matter what you think

btw lol your right, the "what" is embedded into the wwe universe because of Stone Cold but its sometimes being replace with "yes" lol... remember ric flairs "woooo"?

ah good ol days

Okay, I'll resume what you said in all these lines - "You know both are greats but you simply like The Rock more"

I'd resume what I said in my long ass wallies - "I know both are great but Stone Cold contributed more in my eyes. So I like him more"

Long story cut short - it seems that we both agreed on the topic. Good xd

But on some little point on what you said:

I'd seriously like to see Stone Cold back. Perhaps against Punk or Orton. But still, I still don't think we should say that Stone Cold should return because Rock, Brock, Hogan, Flair ect... returned. I mean Stone Cold left because of injuries and we should respect that and not force him to return. We should just be excited if he does 'One More Match...' but we shouldn't be sad if he doesn't.

Brock left because of his own bitchy reasons. Hogan and Flair just can't convince themselves of leaving the ring limelight which is sad. They should be resting their old bodies on some island instead of performing shamelessly at that age. Rock never left because of injuries. He left for movies; not because of injuries. And coming on that, in what EPIC movie did the Rock actually star? He may have been the most successful movie that came from WWE but he didn't make any 'epic' movie lol :p

My favorite feud is usually between stables like DX v/s McMahon family, Corporation v/s Stone Cold, DX v/s Undertaker ect... but if we speak about 1-on-1 feud between real wrestler, then yeah, Stone Cold v/s Rock might be the greatest feud in WWE till date.

And yeah, I thought about Stone Cold during that Sobriety test of Punk. I like Punk's trollface though.

But yeah, Attitude Era was something else. Something that'll remain forever etched in someone's memories if they watched WWE/WWF in that period; even for a short period of time.

I have all the respect in the world for Stone Cold Steve Austin, but The Rock in my own opinion was better. Probably because he was more entertaining to watch whether he was a Face or Heel. Unfortunately, there has been times where Stone Cold has been a Heel and wasn't entertaining at all to me.

Here's some comparable accomplishments for them (Championship Wise in the WWF/WWE).

  • Stone Cold was the WWF/WWE Champion 6 times.
  • The Rock was the WWF/WWE champion 7 times.
  • Stone Cold had a Million Dollar Championship 1 time.
  • The Rock had the World Heavyweight Championship 2 times.
  • Stone Cold had the Intercontinental Championship 2 times.
  • The Rock had the Intercontinental Championship 2 times.
  • Stone Cold was the Tag Team Champion 4 times.
  • The Rock was the Tag Team Champion 5 times.
  • Stone Cold has won the King of the Ring 1 time and Royal Rumble 3 times.
  • The Rock won the Royal Rumble 1 time.
  • Stone Cold has one Slammy Award.
  • The Rock has three Slammy Awards.
  • Stone Cold was the Fifth Triple Crown Champion.
  • The Rock was the Sixth Triple Crown Champion.
They are very close in several different areas there as you can see... it's clear that these two guys were created by God to be equal in terms of wrestling just as Kishi has made Sasuke and Naruto equals in the Narutoverse. xD

Anyway, The Rock's mic skills in my opinion are just one another level, not even Stone Cold is that high. His stories are always amazing. Whether he's had one to make fun of Stone Cold, Coach, Lillian Garcia, The Undertaker, Stephanie McMahon, Golberg, NWO, Triple H, etc... what he's said has just been better compared to what Stone Cold could've come up with for those very same individuals.

I'd go more into this, but don't see a point currently. The Rock has always been favorite followed by Stone Cold and The Undertaker. (in that order).

It would take hours of watching film and breaking it down to answer such a question. If I was to say purely based on versatility in the sport, then as the overall entertainer combined with in-ring abilities I would say The Rock. But it could go either way, you can't make a mistake by choosing between either.

This is so true, I will say they are like Madara and Hashirama.
