Chapter 11: The special few

I spent the next several weeks trying to explain the excited younger kids about chakra, while doing serious work with the older teenagers. Finally, I made a firm decision, only those that were 16 or older could learn my technique. Even though this made my job easier, there was still 20 or so in the group. A few weeks in and I tried to explain my method, but explaining a feeling was rather difficult. Then the question came up.

"Will our eyes become like yours? When can we push people away with our minds?" a question from several of the kids rang in my ears every day. And everyday I explained that I didn't know and I was born different then the rest of them, so they might not get my Rinnegan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was a few years later, a short while after my twentieth birthday. The others were all mostly 18 and 19. Son Goku began to participate a few months in, and he as well was having difficulty. The most progress the others had made was small bursts of chakra, that were not enough to even do anything.

I was surprised to see that Uzima wanted a part in all of this. Though she began to go back to normal, she was still very timid. To see her wanting to get involved was a great surprise. I set her down along with the others who were in a meditating position. I explained to her that making chakra involved deep breathing, concentration, and balance of mind and body energies. I gave her all the basics and I watched her close her eyes and breath. I began to walk around to check on the others, but I almost stopped cold when my Rinnegan saw a massive surge of chakra. I turned around to look at the source. I moved slowly, taking a look at Uzima. She sat straight up, breathing heavily, her silky black hair almost stood on end. Not only did she create chakra, but it surged in her body. After a moment, it calmed down, but unlike the others, it didn't just fade away, a portion of it remained, forming a network of chakra lines across her body, much like myself. The others looked at her, also seeing the strange reaction, though only externally.

"Tengen...this feels incredible. Is this what you feel all the time?" she said between gasps. For the first time, I saw something in Uzima, I hadn't since two years ago. She smiles. Not a fake smile to make others feel better. A genuine smile, with a twinkle in her bright blue eyes. A wide grin displayed her pearl white teeth.

"Yes, you get used to it little by little, but you will never feel the same again," I said, returning the smile.

Then, one by one, I watched as more and more of them developed their chakra networks and experienced chakra for the first time, even Son Goku. Then the interesting part began. I began to teach them about the elemental ways of chakra. Fire, water, earth, wind and Lightning. The confusing part was that, while I could use all 5 easily the first time, the others for some reason were unable to use more then one. They all seemed to only be able to use one of the 5. I watched as some easily breathed fire, but could not enchant water. Others could raise boulders from the ground, but could not blow wind from their bodies. Some could use lightning, but Uzima could not use any of the elemental skills. Uzima was not the only one. A few of the students could not use elemental natures. I meditated on this for quite some time.

One day, as I trained everybody on the natures they could use, I noticed something about their chakra. It seemed that chakra moved through the body in a spiral formation. Some people rotated their chakra in one direction, and others rotated the other. I began to ponder the elemental problems. I came to a conclusion.

"Our bodies are all different. Much like our fingerprints and our voices, our chakras our unique. It seems that everybody has an affinity to one element, while others have no affinity. While I, seem to have all. It is possible that over time, your chakra will mature and you may gain more elemental affinities," I announced to the group. "For those of you who have no affinity, I will train you differently to see how your chakra functions. While I do that, Son Goku, being the only person so far to have two elements other then myself, will begin to train you until we can join together as one group."

I looked at the individuals. There were 7 in all, including Uzima. Training them was the most difficult as I had no real experience outside of the nature elements. The first was a boy named Kaguya. He was a boy with white hair and two red dots on his forehead. Looking at his chakra, I noticed that his chakra network was much closer to his bones then his internal organs, which was odd to me. As an experiment, I instructed him to concentrate on moving his chakra through his skeleton. What followed, amayzed me. I watched as his skin opened up and shards of bone erupted from his body. Though to a normal person, such a thing would be painful, but to him it was natural. This was his jutsu.

Facinated, I asked Kaguya more about himself. He explained that he was part of a major clan but he was abandoned because he mutated. With this thought in mind, I realized that some individuals might have blood characteristics from mutations that give them unique abilities, like my Rinnegan. I named it Shikotsumyaku: Dead bone pulse. I looked at the others, thinking of the possibilities of more of these students having these blood limits, these Kekkei Genki.

"The possibilities are endless."
