Didn't Jiraiya state that Nagato awakened those rinnegan during the Yahiko incident when they were kids? Tbh, ever since the sage saying that it was the combination of the brothers chakra that resulted in the rinnegan, I've been confused about Nagato.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that there were two sets of rinnegan during the war lol

I'm fairly certain that the Uchiha DOES implant the brother's eyes to reach EMS. However, the result IS a "fusion" in which their powers are combined. The eye itself is clearly reborn after the transplant, because the blindness is healed and the Doujutsu receives a power-up.

I'd call the Doujutsu itself "Madara's" because he awakened it and it was just as much a result of his own power as it was Izuna's. However, there's a reason he was Rinne Tensei'd without eyes. He didn't have his originals.

Nope but the result, EMS, is the combine power of both brothers which Madara uses so it's still his power since he made it his own. We don't know what Izuna MS jutsus were and if it was different from Madara's or the same like Itachi's and Sasuke's. IF it was different then the jutsus that were Izuna would still be Izuna's at core value but will still belong to Madara as well.

If he took out his own eyes and implanted Izuna's then, yes. But the 2 pair of eyes could very well fuse together, making this argument invalid.
