he states reasons why some members joined..
hes says some for love which must be konan.
so ive come to this conclusion.
konan loves yahiko but he doesnt love her back because hes cold hearted.
so she joined akatski to be close to serve him to show an ironic act of ;ove.
i think in the end she may turn on yahiko for wat hes planing.

recources would probally be kakuzu who is in it for money.

religion hidan who once akatsuki will try to make every one take part in his religion.

not sure on the rest though...

Hmmm Well did'nt Madara invent Akatsuki to accumulate vasts amounts of power to overthrow countries and achieve revenge against Konoha.
So if that's true Madara did it for revenge.

I believe Itachi joined under Madara's influence (S-ranked Criminal Organization) except he wanted to protect Konoha, since Itachi was probly stronger than Madara(shell of former self)
If that's true Itachi Joined to protect Konoha.

They still needed more power so they were sent off to acquire Deidara.
Deidara made that bet that he would join Akatsuki, If he lost to Itachi.
We all know how that turned out.

Orochimaru wanted to learn all the jutsus in the world.
So I believed Orochimaru joined to try to achieve that goal.
(IDK y he left though)

as for the others I am not sure though

zetsu is brought in by madara for sure..
kisame by madara aswell although he didnt knew madara acted as tobi..
but i still see no reason for madara play the role as tobi...
i mean.. why entering inside the ring of members as tobi and act like a retard ?

Well to clear things off..

kakuzu joined the akatsuki so that he can collect more bounties easily..yet this is a advantage for akatsuki because akatsuki needed funds for their organization..

Hidan joined the group with unknows reasons..still he is just the only one that has the gutsto talk boastly to pein..he dislikes their leader pein

Deidara was just forced to join to akatsuki..deidara acted as a terrorist, where his work attracted the attention of Pein..thats why itachi and kisama was ordered to recruit him..basically deidara really insisted in joining but made a bet that if itachi beats him he will join akatsuki..and yes he was beaten and hold a grudge to itachi.

Orochimaru left Konoha he came in contact with a group of rogue ninja known as the Akatsuki. He found that their goals were similar such as discovering and learning new jutsu. It was while with the Akatsuki that Orochimaru discovered a immortal jutsu. he left akatsuki failing to kill itachi because he fighted itachi and wanted to take over his body..so that he can attain the sharingan so gaining jutsus will be easy for him.

Sasori joined akatsuki but i dont know the reason why..he was partnered before with orochimaru then deidara..

Kisame joined akatsuki with unknows reason too..he was paired to itachi

Itachi joined the akatsuki so that he could watch the movement of this organization from the inside.

anyway..i further wont explain tobi,pein.zetsu,konan why they are in akatsuki since most of you people know this.

its really obvious that people who joined akatsuki was immortal..
i mean Kakuzu,Hidan,Orochimaru,Sasori..they are immortal..Pein,Tobi well we dont know..but for short..akatsuki members are really strong..

only hidan is immortal in the natural way because of his religion..
kakuzu isn't immortal he was just able to lengten his lifespan by taking other people's heart.
orochimaru isn't really immortal in my eyes.. it's because he experimented on himself ( see his true form and the conversation that orochimaru had with sandaime with that white serpent )
sasori is just a puppet but his heart is real.. but he can't feel pain that's all, so not immortal

Hidan , Kakuzu , Sasori , Orochimaru are immortals in a way that they can lengthen their lifespan..and if it wasn't they nobody would find their weakness they would be immortal enough.

Hidan for his religion
Kakuzu for his hearts
Sasori for being a puppet
orochimaru immortality jutsu

orochimaru is imortal now that itachi sealed him in an eternal genjutsu.
that eternal genjutsu makes him truely imortal
