One Piece's timeskip was soooooo much more significant. I mean really? It's the beginning of a NEW ERA! Honestly, One Piece is so huge, so expansive, and has this unmatched sense of adventure, you could split the manga into two parts, each being able to stand alone in terms of story.

Yet Naruto > OP in terms of popularity

the sad truth,

which any OP fan have to deal and live with it.

Popularity means squat. Justin Beiber is popular, but it doesn't change the fact he has no musical talent whatsoever -__-

That, and the fact you are actually wrong XD One piece sold more than Naruto in Japan, so you are wrong on two accounts ! Good job :3

Sorry to revive an old thread not really

But yeah I have to agree, Oda did his timeskip real well, all the characters came back badass while Kishis was alot like toriyamas timeskips where the characters don't really develope all that much or at all, except unlike Toriyama who had like 5 timeskips in dragonball, Naruto only had one single timeskip where the characters except for Sasuke barely developed, honestly some of them regressed in skill like Naruto, I thought naruto way wayyyy more badass in part one with his Kage Bunshin manipulation whereas the only manipulation in part two was with the rocks durin the pain arc..

All in all Oda is much better at developing his characters ^_^
