You get rep for making such an awesome thread, but as much as I hate to say it- I can't agree. Team Guy are my favourite squad but seeing Neji portrayed as such a pushover the last few times we've seen him and no MAJOR advancements in Rock Lee's skills I think Kishimoto may have just made them weaker and moved onto other characters he'd rather be writing about (which I hate) :\
Good threat .... But this is all based on you're person assumption, You see neji having a hard time and getting really tired fighting with the white zutsu guys .... I personally think that he's improved but i fell the main reason you haven't seen them if because he hasn't had much time to fit them in. A mean if you look at the manga and the anime atm it seems pretty rushed.
Your posts are similar so I will reply to you both, Naruto is the main character which is why he WILL become the strongest and is why instead of team guy's missions we have me watching there's team kakashi's missions have more to do with the story as the main characters is in that team.
I agree, Kishi has not shown Neji and rock lee barely at all in this war but it is not because they are weak, that is wrong it is because they are not important and that is the truth.
Neji is not struggling with zetsu's what so ever he can take out about 5-10 at one time, what he is struggling with is the sheer number of them which all the shinobi just fighting zetsu were there is thousands of them.
The reason neji was caught by 1 and I repeat 1 of them is because he wascaught of guard for a second, he quickly defeated it using one body blow.
Also it was because of plot he was grabbed tbh it was needed so zetsu neji could cause a rampage at night. That's why kishi done that scene to refer back to it later kishi had to do this scene and that is the only reason he got grabbed.
In the middle of the story it was because team guy would make it easy wins for the good guys and now the reason they are not shown is because now we are talking about way stronger opponents and neji and lee are not that important or strong enough to fight these super strong opponents.
Yeah they're a sweet team.
I still think any Jonin would have died in the situation Asuma was in, so Kishi chose to kill him off since he was the least developed. Team Guy would have put up a sweet fight against Hidan and Kakuzu, but specializing in Taijutsu+no intel= Field day for Hidan. Kaukuzu would have gotten involved and his hearts would have had a field day.
You really do need intelligence to take those two on, which is why Shikamaru was the best choice to put up against them.
I highly doubt Neji can beat Hidan. He might if he had intel on him.
I don't think they can take any of the Akatsuki teams on their own. They just don't match up well at all.
Sasori+Deidara> Team Guy, because they're to long distance fighters with great trump cards. Deidara can use C4 without having to worry about Sasori. And Guy, Neji, and Lee would get poison fogged if they tried to get at Sasori. You need a puppet user to beat him, that's why Chiyo was such a great addition.
Hidan and Kakuzu> Team Guy, I already explained this, but they can win with intelligence, but Hidan is there worst nightmare. He's no slouch in hand-to-hand combat, he was pushing Kakashi back, and his scythe is a huge problem for them, not to mention Kakuzu fighting from long distances.
The rest don't really need explaining for obvious reasons.
However, if Team Guy was around when Pain invaded, Naruto need not have bothered showing up. Kakashi would have done much better if he had Team Guy. Pain probably would have bean defeated before he destroyed the village.
No I wasn't saying they could do it on their own I was saying kishi didn't involve them because if they did it would be to easy for the good guys, could you imagine lee,guy,neji,tenten,shikamaru,choji,ino,kakashi,naruto,yamato,sakura vs hidan and kakuzu it would be over kill for the good guys, do you see my point?
I don't mean team guy by them selves I mean team guy joining to help out, it would be to easy.
