As bad ass as pain was....and he was my fav villian of this series, hashirama would beat him. No one was as hyped or powerful as hashirama!
If hashirama was the only one who could beat madara, and madara controlled pain then hashirama is by default above pain. That makes him GOAT....until naruto who solos all
