You know me. I hate Sasuke. Still, I do think I wouldn't want to see anyone else in the last fight. Villain or not. This Naruto thing is about bonds and ways to attain peace.

I find Sasuke a bat-shit cray-cray character and can't relate to the idiot. Sasuke is intimidating from time to time, when his psycho-mind turns bloodthirsty, I must admit he has something going on. That resolve to execute the kage and change the world is something of a real threat.

Meh. No problem with him being beat by Naruto.

It's not that we didn't expect him to turncoat on Naruto and co. (Most of us did) rather it's that the timing and execution is just so shoddily written that it just feels contrived, artificial and inane, and others are even under the assumption that Sasuke will actually win which is absurd.

As an Uchiha Fan in Tumblr lamented upon: Sasuke has been reduced to a cheap plot device in this fight just to further glorify Naruto that he is in the right while Sasuke is in the wrong, and that the latter will just be beaten and converted to Naruto's way which further shames Sasuke's resolve as insipid and weak.

Agreed with the OP. When I remember the chills that Yahiko's Path gave me, Sasuke can hide under a rock. Or it could be that we're all used to Sasuke's troublemakings that it doesn't come off as serious as it should.

Be honest with yourself. Were you not hyped for Naruto Vs Sasuke from the beginning? Or are you one of those people who never cared about this fight?

Honestly, never really cared. Mainly because Naruto would never kill him, even if he was stronger. If he does kill him, he accomplishes nothing. The only thing that is actually exciting is the fact that we can't really predict what will happen.

"One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." At this point, the Shinobi system is known to be corrupt by all, and Naruto wanting the Shinobi system to carry on implies he wants corruption to persist for his own naive and ambitious dreams. Sacrifices always have to make, and Sasuke understands that. That's the difference between them, saying Sasuke is different to Naruto because he's 'evil' is purely subjective, me saying Sasuke is the hero and Naruto is the villain holds just as much merit. This comparison you have made proves that you don't comprehend this, the only true villains are Orochimaru and Kaguya, the rest are villains merely in your perceived meaning of evil. -Apêx

Fair enough. Do you feel this fight would be a better finish to the manga? Or were you satisfied with the Kaguya finish?

Another thing to add is that the previous villains gave not only the readers but the protagonists themselves a feeling of despair, of course common sense dictates that any villain will lose however, the mystery of how they will lose is something that readers get hooked on, Madara brought despair to the Alliance and sent Naruto and Sasuke on the verge of death,we wonder with awe and excitement how they were going to defeat him Pre-Hagoromo powerups, but in this Naruto vs Sasuke fight, there is no mystery involved in a fight with the combatants evenly matched (and truth be told the memory of Sasuke's lackluster performance in the Kaguya fight is still fresh in our minds) and neither can Sasuke bring despair to Naruto, so ultimately this fight will be lacking the mystery and gusto of the previous villain fights.

Nah, Kaguya was hilarious as a villain. She barely spoke, even DBZ's Broli had more dialogue than her, it was ridiculous and unnecessary. I kinda knew that they would fight in the end ever since we were introduced to Hagoromo's kids and how every generation has two of them who are alpha and are always bickering in their rivalry. It's definitely a better finish. I do find Sasuke's reasoning idiotic, same as Madara, but I just can't predict how this will end.

Agreed, but you have to admit that you don't really know how this will end, right?

If Naruto manages to defeat Sasuke, what will he do? He won't kill him, but Sasuke won't succumb to Naruto's way either. So what's it gonna be?

Also, they can't kill each other since they have to release the world from IT. Basically, I'm not liking the fact that they're becoming Hashirama and Madara, but the thing that gives me hope is Naruto's comment that they're actually not like all previous generations.

In the previous fights: "Wow! how are they going to defeat Juubi Jin Obito?! Afterwards: How are they going to defeat Madara now that he incapacitated Naruto and Sasuke, what is the Alliance going to do now?!"

Current fight: "Let's just get this over with and have Naruto beat some sense into Sasuke so that MT can be cancelled and everyone lives happily ever after"

Personally I am not even gonna bother going into detail of Sasuke's plan. Since I find it rediculious myself. I do not support it, I just respect it. In the end Kishi needed to give a reason for him to fight so he chose this one. You are right about the whole suspense of not knowing how it will end. I really hope these two give us a good show, of there powers.

Yeah. I gotta say that it's more exciting to read Sasuke fans' posts on how he'll fodderize Naruto.

The problem with Sasuke's reasoning is that it's basically the same as Madara. He just uses different words. He says he wants to build a better system, but dude, you can't do that by force and against someone's will. I guess when it comes to Sasuke, I'm disappointed with lack of originality.

Sir Derp you're obviously a Sasuke hater, I've realised this for a while now. It's true that Sasuke is not better as a villain like Madara (Greatest villain in Naruto) or Pain/Nagato(Second best), or Orochimaru but this fight is necessary for the fans and this alone makes it into the greatest fight in the series especialy since this is a complete one-on-one unlike the previous fights in which Naruto had a team backing him up or the villain was weakened prior to the fight or he had the uncontrolled Kurama give him chakra and then goes Berserk. By the way Sasuke is still better, no, way better than Obito, Kabuto and Kaguya (Shittiest main villains in manga/anime/novels/games/movies/TV series in history)

Well its better to have a reason than to not have a reason. Most villians of DBZ rarely had a reason. I guess all we can do is work with what we have and hope for the best.

obito was way better, couldve been the final villian before sauce v noodles and it wouldve been perfect
