Okay, I keep noticing people making a small error in some of their statements in regards to izanagi. Yes the SO6P used it but he never lost his sight do to the Rinnegan and the fact that he is both Uchiha and Senju. So when ever he used it, his eyes never lost their light because he used the perfect izanagi.

Second, the reason why the sharingan closes is because the user is using an an incomplete form of izanagi. If it where complete the eyes would not therefore close.

Now, this also means that Madra is incapable of using a complete izanagi, because if he were his eye would not have lost its light. This only shows that if Madara tries to us izanagi for anything, whatever eye he uses to do it, will lose its light as it is an incomplete form.
