This is a theory which strongly links to Doflamingo's and Corazon's past

So far we know that:
- Doflamingo and Corazon lost their mother during their childhood
- Doflamingo killed their father two years later
- Doflamingo and Corazon left Mariejois soon after
- Corazon ranked as one of the five elite officers along side Vergo, Pica, Diamante and Trebol under the command of his elder brother

Doflamingo said (can't find the scan :|) that Vergo has been with him ever since Doflamingo became a pirate.

So we can see that Vergo was there from the very beginning.

Next: all of Doflamingo's subordinates call him "young lord". This refers to him as being their "master". The Tenryuubito had a lot of slaves. And this is why I think that all of the Donquixote Elites were slaves freed by Doflamingo and Corazon. (Excluding Vergo, but I'll get onto that later)

Look at trebol here:

He carries a scepter around and wears shackles around his feet. This is an interesting symbolism. Personally I see it as a representation of Trebol being a slave to the World Nobles.

Other symbolisms:
Sugar is seen wearing a crown

Pica is seen wearing chains and armour (fighting to entertain the nobles, perhaps?)
You must be registered for see images
Baby 5 is dressed in maid/cleaner attire
You must be registered for see images
Machvise is in a guards uniform

Another thing they all have in common is that they're all Devil Fruit users (except Machvise as far as we know). These guys may have been fed the Devil Fruits by the Tenryuubito to amuse and entertain them. This is the same reason as to why Boa Hancock and her sisters were given Devil Fruits.

AND if we go even further:
Donquixote Pirates have the Jolly Roger marked on their bodies somewhere. Like the Sun pirates it could be a way to hide their slave mark.

Finally: I see Vergo to be more like a Butler than a slave.
- He's very formal
- Very good posture
- No devil fruit (only slaves would be fed these!)
You must be registered for see images

So in conclusion I think that almost all of the Donquixote family worked for the Tenryuubito before Doflamingo and Corazon fled from Mariejois.

- Doflamingo = Former Tenryuubito
- Corazon = Former Tenryuubito
- Vergo = Their families Butler
- Pica = Former Slave
- Diamante = Former Slave
- Trebol = Former Slave
- Sugar = Former Slave
- Dellinger = Inconclusive
- Machvise = Former Guard/Slave?
- Jora = Inconclusive
- Lao G = Inconclusive
- Buffalo = Former Slave
- Baby 5 = Former Slave
- Monet = Inconclusive

Your thoughts? Do you like the idea of the Donquixote Family being former slaves themselves?

.....I read this on another site :|

But ye, I agree with it. Except Machivise does have a devil fruit doesn't he? o_O it's G and Dellinger we aren't sure about.

Plus on the theory I read on another site a good part was that the jolly rogers were actually representing that Doflamingos former slaves don't have to put on fake smiles any more, hence the smile with a big cross through it.

We don't know if Machvise has a DF, but it's quite likely that he does!

Interesting analogy of the JR! Can you link me to the post on that site please? :D

Isn't Machvise the one Law described as being a "Heavyweight Human?" Titles like that go to DF users, so if that's him, he's probably a Paramecia.

Not mine, took it from the site.
Very unorganised site, XD, but if you keep scrolling down you will see pretty much everything you put in your post but in disconnected bits.

And ye, exactly.

@Riker

What kind of fruit would Machvise even have though? The Kilo Kilo no Mi is already taken...

That lady that ate it could be dead, and Doflamingo got his hands on her fruit and gave it to Machvise.
I doubt it... It's possible but it's not likely

Maybe Machvise can change the weight of other things he touches (why he has the huge shield on his back?). If Gladius can make things he touches explode then Machvise could do something similar.

Gladius has a similar fruit to Mr 5

Might take you a while bro, like I said, that site is just horrible to navigate >___>

Also to your post at rinnemaki I like the idea of that, he changes the weight of things he touches.
Like you stated, explain the huge block of metal on his back xD

I'm still trying to think of a Devil Fruit Dellinger and Lao G could have

If they were former slaves they probably did... I can see Lao G being a Butler like Vergo though xD
Not necessarily, wasn't Koala a slave? I forget.

And maybe he was like the babysitter or some sh*t xD always used to make Mingo and Corazon laugh by doing his G pose XD
I can so see this being a thing.

This is just my take on things, but I don't think doflamingo will have any kind of story to sympathize with him and justify his actions quite honestly. What they are doing and how they carry it out couldn't be much worse to be honest, and doesn't seem to be aimed at getting revenge on a single person or organisation. When good people do bad things, it's almost always revenge. This seems like a profiteering exercise at dressrosa, otherwise he'd have just killed the king or whoever he may have held a grudge against. All he's done is create a readily available slave supply while being able to mask his true personality and motives from most people and keep the marines on a tight leash. Just look at crocodile, beloved hero... if he had succeeded, the navy would have had a tough time touching him until his deeds were fully exposed to the nation.

Also, the joker mark isn't compatible with the dragons foot. Unless you think that the joker mark was used instead to denote his own personal slaves.

I like it, sounds good. As to the people mentioning the Jolly Roger I think it's simply Corazon came up with the original logo of the smiling face(which is why Law who seems to have respected him a lot continues to use it) and Doflamingo when he killed him took that logo and put a slash through it sort of like a take over symbol, he wanted people who saw it to know he overthrew the other group. That said Mr. Outsides bit about it symbolizing no more fake smiles sounds good too.
