An answer that isn't Naruto ? cute... u obviously haven't seen enough anime to make such a statement.
Its certainly not the best but its also far from the worst.
he never said Naruto is bad, he just said it's overrated, imo it's the most overrated manga today, right up there with DBZ and currently AOT.
I love
Naruto, been following it for 7 years and it's my 3rd fav manga but I do still think it's overrated because it's so popular and it's fanbase (spacially on this forum) just can't take any criticism, even if it comes from a fellow fan. Naruto does not have all that compelling of a story, it does have very epic moments (... Pain arc), but overall it is very inconsistent and is too dragged out, the main character is just blah, though it does have some badass secondary characters (I've always thought there were many characters in Naruto that would have been a lot more suited for a MC) and Kishi just can't do females for some reason. Many say OP has bad art-style but I don't think so, actually I think Kishi has somewhat of a disappointing art style, too many of his characters look too much alike, many of his pages just look too empty. The same goes for the world, in many cases he has one original idea and than he copies it all over the place (powers, villages, characters, ...). The story as a whole also just does not seem as a singular story, the first part of Naruto just seems as a completely different manga to me by now, and it's almost the same with the second part from the beginning till the start of Pain arc.
DBZ is my childhood so I love it too, but it's popularity imo is just not supported by the content so imo it's extremely overrated, it's just: bad guy appears-train-fight x12, the best thing it has going for it are the characters (... Goku and ofc Vegeta

)
and
AOT is just a new thing with good animation, but above all gore, blood, deaths, suffering, ... and for some reason people love that (tells a lot about the problems our society has), while it has an intriguing story, enough to keep me on board, it just is NOT as good as people have been saying since the anime came out
and now for some I do
not think are overrated
Fairy Tail, I love FT, I like it for the characters and I don't really have any big problems with it like a lot of people do. But I wouldn't say it's exactly the best manga, it would be more accurate if I described it as a guilty pleasure I enjoy reading for the action, the funny, the characters and a little for the fanservice

I like it for that because that's what it's supposed to be, it was never intended as a serious story, kinda like a sitcom, I personally feel the same way about the big bang theory. There is also the fact that it gets so much hate that I just don't see it as overrated. Though imo it has the same problem with the art-style as Naruto though it looks better a lot of the characters just look too similar.
One Piece, I just never though it could be grouped with Bleach and Naruto, while the other two are good imo OP just stomps them as a long running series. It's true I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable about manga, I am certain there will never be a manga that will beat OP for the first place for me. The characters are just fantastic, the story is consistent and it all ties up, it's the funniest manga for me and it has amazing action. There are good short stories but an amazing over 700 chapter story is just something else to experience, especially if you follow it for a long time. Many complain about the art-style but I think it's awesome, it's completely unique and it offers so many possibilities it's just ... also Oda manages to just cramp so much stuff on 1 page that it's just awesome to read with all the detail, much of which you don't even notice at first. There's also all the awesome connection to the real world, symbolism and history (for example Usopps name, Elbaf and the Fables, true fans know what I'm talking about ... though there's stuff like that all over the place), Oda just does so much research for OP and is so original. There is a lot of stuff you could never notice if you don't give OP a real chance. It's also a very serious manga and can be extremely emotional (I cried for a ship :'(). Also there is the world, a world where anything is possible and whatever Oda would chose to do, it would just not look out of place, not to mention the sheer size of the world and the imagination that went into it. I could ramble on about OP for pages so let me stop here
Death Note ... how is death note overrated, it's not even metnioned all that often and it's overall story is awesome
