Edit: upon reflection it seems there's many other Shinobi that are as good as Tobirama and Minato. I will remake this thread at a later date once I've taken that into consideration.

Look at where thé hidden leaf villiage stands on the map. This is where Tobirama resided at the time he sensed Madara.

Way up north in Kumogakure is where all the fighting is occurring. I'll redo this thread with the specifics but this is the rough area in which Madara, Obito and the SA are fighting in.

You'll notice in the next slide that Tobirama states that he can sense both Naruto, the Kyuubi and Madara's chakra.

The sheer range of this would mean that Tobirama's sensory skill can span at least the best part of an entire country. This is undoubtedly one of the most impressive in the manga, well up there with Nagato and Naruto (Possibly above Naruto? I believe that his range was less that Tobirama's.), at least above other notable Sensors like Mū (Solely by feats.) and Karin.

You can also see that Minato seems to sense it too; though his reactions are not as sharp as Tobirama's.

However, Tobirama was able to identify that Karin was an uzumaki from sensing her chakra, which is something above Minato.


Personally, Minato is to Tobirama as Hiruzen is to Hashirama.

Agreed. Tobirama is the best sensor in this manga going by feats. He also sensed that Orochimaru was made of Hashirama's cells and sensed that Karin is from the Uzumaki Clan just from her chakra.

Indeed; what's strange is that Minato was not only unable to deduce that the masked man was Obito, but also that he would have two different chakra signatures.

Him being able to sense Chakra really isn't that great. We've seen much better sensing abilities. Naruto's emotion sensing paired with the chakra sensing of Sage Mode all wrapped up in BSM is far superior to Tobirama.

And unlike Karin, who can sense at any time except when she hides her presence, Tobirama has to knead Chakra to sense, as shown when he couldn't sense Madara eavesdropping outside a window ten feet away from him.

That's slightly different considering it was Hashirama's own DNA he was sensing.

Not really, because Mokuton has no ability like that. He simply sensed his chakra inside Orochimaru... just like a sensor does.
