There are 4 road poneglyph each directing to a specific island and the last island, Raftel, is located at the center of those 4. that is the same expression in WG's symbol!!!!
So at last my theory is that maybe before the void century there was another kind of WG centered in Raftel and the King was Joy boy and the throne we have seen in the latest chapter belongs to him. after a war that happened in the void century, 20 of kings probably killed Joy Boy, stole the Throne from Raftel and put it in there new castel.
what do you think?!

Pretty sure it was already explained in the series that it symbolizes the four Blues (East, North, West, South) and the Grand Line.

It makes little sense either that the WG would use a symbol as their official flag that refers to the Void Century and Raftel while they removed all records of it and punish severely anyone who tries to investigate it.

Pretty much this... But your idea is nothing new, been around for just about ever my friend and it may very well be a possible, with Oda, sometimes you just can’t tell!

Raftel's riches seemed to belong to the "D" empire that ruled back in the day before the world govt destroyed them.

Wasn't it just their advanced technology that they feared? And I think the point of the D's is that they don't want to rule... I reckon they were just powerful, but didn't use that power to harm others
