The Martyr of Konoha: The Itachi Uchiha FC

If you could have 1 of Itachi's jutsu/tools, which one would it be?

I'll come back tomorrow and reply to everything, including the OVA and the cutscenes.

I may just make a thread on the OVA, actually (depending if Kishi had any involvement with it or not). There's some hidden symbolism
He never makes any of the OVAs or cutscenes. He just approves the final product or the idea behind it.

I know. :c Naruto wanted to tell everyone, but he's not. Itachi made him promise not to tell the world the truth about him, so the Uchiha won't be known as traitors and their noble name can be preserved.

yeah I remember that and it's logical, it is still sad though

I think it's sad for us the reader because we all sympathize with Itachi (which is Kishimoto's intent, he hates his fandom and wants us all to feel bad xD ), however, in Itachi's own point of view, he's happy as long as the world is safe and his clan is well-received. He doesn't care what others think of him at all, I don't think he ever did.

Since figuring out the truth about him, I've always felt that Itachi was the most selfless character in the series. :T_T: He always thought of others before himself, and I think you're right, he didn't care what others thought of him. Such self-sacrifice. <3

Pretty much. And I think that's what Kishimoto was going for. He wanted him to be a tragic antihero who lived the worst life in the series (others have had worse childhoods, but I mean overall life) of his own accord in order to better the lives of others. Also, Kishimoto has described Itachi as "self-sacrificing". I think he's meant to teach the audience positive lessons ... in fact, I think that I've learned more from this character than I have Naruto (though, Naruto is pretty inspiring and lovable too).

I'm going to post scans later on from the manga of what Itachi had to deal with, just for fun. lol And from the databook as well. Interestingly enough, most of what Kishimoto writes about Itachi directly contrasts with the negative views Itachi has of himself. This could be an interesting topic for discussion. :)

Itachi may be my favorite anti-hero of all time. I agree, while others may have more tragic childhoods, Itachi had a tragic life. ;_; He was the one who had to live as a missing-nin, an enemy of Konoha... and hated by his brother. Yeah, I definitely agree, Itachi emulates positive lessons. <3 I think you're right, actually. Indeed, Naruto is lovable and inspiring, but Itachi just has so much more to him. I lack the words to describe it. xD Also, to those who say that Itachi is the worst-written character of the series, I say fooey on them. :| He's by far one of the best, imo!

Sounds good. XD Huh, I didn't really consider that! O_O Yeah, it will be! ^^

@bold- He's definitely in the top 3 most well-written. Kishimoto covered every aspect plus more with this character.

Itachi is probably like 25% of the fandoms #1 fav, and then the rest have him as one of their favs (like in their top ten). Then, there's like a 1% of loons who think he's the worst-written. However, those loons are usually a) People who distort his character (I've shown you screenshots of a certain member's comments who's username starts with S, lol). b)Those who cannot understand his character due to its complexity. c)Those who are jealous because he humiliated their fav in some way or another (so some fans of Sasuke- mainly the hardcore ones, some Deidara fans, some Oro fans, etc) and then d) Some people hate the Uchiha clan as a whole (one of my friends does, lol. She hates the way they took over the series. She hates every single Uchiha introduced bar Itachi and Izuna. She's indifferent to those two).

I laugh alot anytime I see a negative comment regarding Itachi. Mainly because, if anyone writes a negative comment, they ignore key facts on purpose. If one looks at his character overall (which is what is supposed to be, considering every character has many different parts that make them up), everything he does makes sense, and every bad action he commited had a reason. If he didn't commit those bad actions, it's confirmed that worse things would have happened. He was just thrown into a bad situation every time, starting from the time he was 4 years of age. Hence why people like Naruto wish to change the shinobi system. It's failed alot of people in the past and quite a few have had to give up their lives for it. Itachi being the most extreme example of that, then others like Kushina, Minato, Jiraiya, Neji, and a few more.

This makes quite a lot of sense. Isn't surprising considering he's so well-written. U_U

Ok, let's spread some Itachi love! ^_^

*digs his way out of homework and textbooks*

I'M STILL HERE. :dafq:

I haven't forgotten about replying to everyone (and the UNR videos), forgive my lateness.

I'm just swamped with homework/other stuff ATM, and don't have the time I need to reply to everyone with the utmost attention and quality that you all deserve <3

I'll be sure to make some time this weekend!
