But without that influence, do you think that Itachi would have wanted to protect the village from his clan in the first place? I believe that Shisui helped to lead him down the path that he ultimately chosen. The lack of that might have opened the door for him to help his clan instead.

Ooooh... you make an excellent point. He might not have wanted to protect the village with Shisui's influence! O_O And here's a thought: if Itachi had decided to stay with his clan (or as Danzo put it, "die with your clan"), then who would the elders send to perform the massacre?? So many questions stem from the original one you asked on this subject haha!

He's a punk rocker at heart XD :ls:

I did too! Any time we get to see him makes for a good chapter, especially when Sasuke admits Itachi was right. lol

By the way, this doesn't apply here really but I'm gonna ask it anyway. Is it me or does Obito remind anyone else of Naruto? I was watching the anime the other day and aside from the obvious differences (no whisker marks, dark hair, half zetsu body, etc.) he looked and sounded like Naruto! Intentional or not?

Yeah, I just saw a thread where someone posted a picture of Naruto in his current state and Obito after he was defeated. They looked eerily similar. O_O I bet it's intentional!!

Ah I spotted that one! I think I'm going to try to find either manga pics or anime scenes in which Naruto and Obito look similar. It'll be an interesting comparison. haha Itachi reminds me more of Izuna than Sasuke does...but that could just be my obvious bias appearing. :leaf:
