Just this Tuesday (yesterday), The Little Mermaid came out on Blue Ray. It's a Diamond Edition and comes in three forms. I'll round out the prices..

Blu-Ray & DVD (25)
Blu-Ray, DVD, & Digital Copy (31.00)
Blu-Ray, DVD, Digital Copy, Blu-Ray 3D, and music(40.00)

This was pretty exciting for me. I don't have The Little Mermaid on a DVD form nor do I have any Blu-Rays, so not only did I get The Little Mermaid on DVD, I embraced Blu-Ray today. I chose the first as I don't need a digital copy or music, as I have them already, and I don't care for 3D watching at home. All editions are really cool and come with all sorts of awesome extras. A deleted character, a music video of Carly Jae Jepsen's version of Part of your world (Awesome version of a great song and I really like Carly, so even better), a behind the scenes, and all sorts of fun stuff.

Anyways, just letting you guys know it hit stores. I intended to get it on Tuesday, but totally forgot.

So, just letting you know. It's one of my favorite movies, great for everyone.

Who's paying you?
Who are you working for?
Whatever they're paying you, I'll pay you double to take down this thread. Just please don't talk about the Little Mermaid.

The Little Mermaid is still one of my favourite movies. When she sings part of your world and goes "I know something's starting right now"... Chills, man. Chills. Like, my spine starts tingling the nostalgia is so strong.

I got it on VHS, but I am definitely jumping for this diamond edition. I usually Marathon the Disney movies once a year, so thanks Jack for reminding me. I think I'll run through the entire renaissance now :win:

The Lion King is seriously overrated. Great movie, but the hunchback of notre dame and beauty and the beast still trump it.

Get at me :snick:
I didn't like Hunchback of Notre Dame. He was just too gross to look at. Beauty and the Beast is pretty good. If you go on YouTube you can find its songs in French. They sound really good!

Its amazing how the people who don't care about the little mermaid or Disney films have bothered to write on this thread.

Honestly though, vhs, my gran got me every Disney film out.
She went to bin them and I refused to have such a vast collection and childhood memories binned.
Soooo they are on a shelf in my bedroom.

Toy story is my favourite to this very day,

No problem. I was aware of The Little Mermaid (and others) as a kid and was really into other Disney properties, but only about a year or possibly two ago did I really just become a huge fan. It's interesting. I watched them and was aware as a kid, but only at like 16/17 at the time did I really get into it. It's really resonates with the you're never too old to be a kid, plus you can enjoy Disney at any age. Like, I'm more into Disney now than I ever was when I was younger. That's crazy. Anyways, really awesome a fan from childhood talking to a fan from teenage years. POWER OF THE INTERNET.

Laaaaaaaaaaaaame ;)
Nice reference.

Mermaids aren't real

#ChildhoodRuined
They killed the dinosaurs in an epic battle.

#ChildhoodEnhanced
(Also a huge Disney fan *_* )

Very nice. =D I'd probably get the first too!
I'm happy there's a lot of Disney fans at the base.

That's how the internet rolls.

Toy Story is a major favorite of mine as well. All three were great.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite movies ever. I like a lot of Disney characters, there are few I really dislike, and Belle & Ariel definitely fill in my top 5 my favorites list.

Also, Lion King=great film. The Dark Knight of Disney movies.

Might as well rank 'em, right? Here's mine (only the renaissance era 1989-1999)

1. Beauty and the Beast
2. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
3. The Little Mermaid
4. Aladdin
5. The Lion King
6. Mulan
7. Tarzan
8. The Rescuers Down Under
9. Hercules
10. Pocahontas <--- Probably their worst one.

@Lonely Uchiha, Loved Toy Story. Thank god pixar came around while I could actually watch them in theaters. Most of the Disney Renaissance movies came out while I was either in diapers, or getting my training wheels off

@Jack, I know exactly what ya mean man! I could never enjoy a movie like Beauty and the Beast while I was young. It was only when I got older that I could appreciate a lot of what went into these movies.

Really good list. Hard to have a bad list. I'm also not a fan of Pocahontas. I don't hate it, but it's just sorta there. Aladdin is such a good movie. Aladdin rules. Ah, Tarzan. I feel like I've seen that a thousand times. Such an interesting movie. Disney really makes iconic stuff. They also make really evil villains and really good heroes. If you really think about the villain part, it's scary. But yeah, great list. All good films.

I'm sorta entering pixar and other realms here, but I really like Incredibles and The Emperor's New Groove. The latter is so funny, but as with all Disney movies, has a deep lesson if you stop and think. You'll be like "I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed and now I feel"

Also, different realm here, but Disney Inifnity is a fun game. Really sad that there probably won't be any princesses besides Rapunzel. She's awesome, so atleast we're getting a cool one, but I really wish they'd release a pack for their older and iconic films.

The Disney Villains are probably some of the most memorable and well written villains I've ever seen. Ursula and Scar just love doing what they're doing. Diabolical as hell those two.

The Emperor's new Groove is perhaps the most underrated film of the bunch. So many people push it aside for being another buddy-buddy film, but I think it revolutionized the concept. Making an arrogant turd like Kuzco seem somewhat relatable at the end is no easy feat.

Disney Infinity is one of those "I wanna try it, but I don't want to be left heartbroken if it isn't what I expected" things. I like the concept of taking figures and "downloading" them into a game, and then going into a comprehensive world, but I fear it isn't what people are hyping it up to be. I'm just going to have to take the plunge I guess.

Tarzan is probably the best protagonist Disney or any children animation company came up with. Wonderfully flawed and perfectly executed in most of his scenes. Man vs his own kind. Ahh... Those memories :yayy:

Scar is, well, his name just sums it up. What he does is evil, but when you add in the factor that he is related to Mufasa and Simba, it just goes deeper than "I'm evil." It's "I know you, our relationship, and I'm still evil." Ursla gets is a different evil. Trickery on the innocent. Cannot get more evil than that.

Gastion=Best villain ever, amiright? XD He's hilarious, but again, one evil dude. His treatment to Belle is jerkish, but leading an entire hunt on Beast? That's just mean.

I want Kuzco to be the President. He's such a fun character.

Tarzan also teaches how you can still be "human" even though you've never been with any humans. It shows how animals have good too and we aren't different in that there are good people everywhere, and sometimes, they aren't even people. A good family is all you need. And also, Jane's a cool character as well. I like her accent and she reminds me of Indiana Jones for some reason. Probably because she travels, but the looking for something and it turning into an entire adventure in of itself is an Indy vibe. Sidenote, Indiana Jones rules.

Take the plunge for the game if the roster appeals to you overall. I like the ideal of it being Minecraft+GTA at it's core. Add in Incredibles, Toy Story, Nightmare Before Christmas, Phineas and Ferb, Tangled, Jack Sparrow, etc... it gets better. It is expensive. One major reason I don't mind is I really want little figures to stand at my desk or wherever. It's a nice touch.
