Wanted to write an FF so here I go...

It was a dark night in the land of water. Insai was leaning against a tall tree within a massive and extremely dense forest awaiting his ANBU teacher in a small clearing, his teacher was none other the Kisame Hoshigaki The Monster of the Hidden Mist. Insai has been training under Kisame for four years now working with him by the orders of Yagura. Kisame accepted the job with responsibility training Insai who was now fifteen. There was only one reason why Kisame has accepted, it was because despite the fact that he disliked most people and had no problem stabbing them in the back for his nation somehow this child reminded him of his mother, the only person he ever felt safe with. Insai like his mother gave him love and was always smiling happy to be alive and having people around him, just like his Kisame's mother. Ever since his mother passed away Kisame hasn't been the same and that was when Kisame started working in the shadows and doing dirty work.

“Sensei!” Insai said as Kisame entered his view. “What the hell are you doing here kid?” “Yagura sent me he said to offer you some help” both Insai and Kisame were dressed in their Kirigakure Anbu suits with a longer katana then most people would have they were both holding their swords in their right hand. It was only after noticing this that he had realized Kisame had a gash running around the left side above his bottom rib bleeding greatly. That's why he is having trouble moving like he usually does thought Insai. Insai quickly ran up and tried to help Kisame. “Get away from me kiddo! This is hardly what I would call a wound” Kisame snapped at Insai. “Sensei, the Sand are on our backs we don't have time to play around let's just get b...” As Insai was saying this and pressing a cloth to Kisame's wound he noticed out of the corner of his eye a projectile travelling towards him at high speeds. Immediately recognizing it as a kunai with a tag attached to it he pushed Kisame away from him while leaping back.

As the kunai exploded he felt somebody behind him. These are high level ninjas he thought. To be able to wound Kisame-sama and live through it is no easy feat. He noticed someone behind him and as he was going to turn around he felt a jabbing pain in his left shoulder. By the time he looked back his opponent was already gone once more. His opponent was fast he knew that much he drew his sword in a reverse grip in his right hand watching his opponent attentively now dropping his sheath to the ground. Four ninjas landed in front of him as Kisame moved towards him to Insai's left sword drawn in a reverse grip as well. Four Sunagakure ninjas thought Insai they are known for their speed with the kekkei genkai Swift. “Sensei... We need to ge..” “I know!” Said Kisame abruptly seeming to lose his cool for the first time Insai has ever seen him. The Suna ninjas then suddenly split up two rushing Kisame from each side and one coming after Insai.

Insai then suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder once more realizing that he would only be relying on his right arm for actual fighting he quickly thought of a plan and using only his left forearm he flicked kunai's at his opponent moving towards him. He threw one kunai to the left then moved slightly to the left, he threw one to the right then moved slightly to the right. Fighting a Swift user from up close would be impossible for almost anyone but him he was thinking. Insai held his sword and crouched low awaiting for the Sunagakure ninja to disappear or perform some kind of Body Flicker. Soon enough once he was within two meters of Insai he disappeared and a split second later was above him. To fast thought Insai quickly launching himself to the left and rotating his body in a desperate attempt to avoid the technique while throwing a kunai upwards with a flick of his left hand. The swift user dodged the kunai and quickly threw his kunai that he had earlier at Insai. Quickly calculating the trajectory of the kunai Insai thought to himself dumbass how could a swift user not even be able to throw a proper kunai. Soon enough that thought left his head realizing the peril he was in a split second before it happened the swift user appeared behind him as the kunai flew past him grabbing it and stabbing him in the throat.

The kunai pierced Insai's throat as Kisame was fighting off the other two Sand ninjas. The man who just stabbed Insai chuckled “Idiot kid should have stayed at the academy.” As soon as he was done saying this he couldn't move. “What the f...” he was paralysed unable to move most of his limbs, he could move his wrists and fingers slightly. Panicking all of a sudden he tried to look around but couldn't Insai walked out from behind him as the dead Insai turned into a log. The sand ninja realized once it was too late that he had completely been fooled by Insai all along and that he was just being played. Every kunai that Insai threw was directly linked to a chakra thread probably somewhere in a tree. Every time he moved quickly using Swift he would get tangled up within them and eventually all Insai had to do was add tension to the chakra strings enough to freeze him in place. “Tricky bastard” moaned the Sand ninja once he realized what Insai was up to and managed to do to him. Insai slide his sword throw the man's chest, then slid it through the brain to make sure he wasn't going to see him move again.

Insai look over and saw Kisame was somehow holding his own against the two other Sand ninjas. Wait! Where in the world is the last o... As Insai was thinking of this he realized that he couldn't move. “Did you really think you were the best at using chakra strings amongst Sand ninjas? What a joke.” The soft and creepy voice came from the woods behind Insai who now couldn't move a limb. How in the world did the puppet user get me? When I was hiding in the woods? While I was fighting the Swift user? Damnit! Should have payed more attention now I'm... Insai couldn't think of what was going to happen he was most likely going to be used against Kisame to catch him off guard and stab him in the back and then they would both be turned into puppets to be used against his own nation.

Meanwhile Kisame was fighting his own two annoying ninjas. Stupid pests he thought they were trying their best to keep him busy while picking off his student, as if he was going to let that happen. He quickly threw his sword at one of the ninjas, the non-swift user. The sword travelled like a javelin slicing through the air aiming for his opponent. As soon as it left his hand he performed the ram handseal, the swift user appearing behind him. Too late he thought immediately exhaling a massive amount of water covering and flooding the entire area in water exhaling this amount of water launched him in the air as the Swift user was attempting to swing his kunai aimed at Kisame's throat missing it by a few inches. Kisame couldn't breath underwater so he used shape manipulation to turn the water into a massive dome. Using swimming enhancing techniques he quickly swam to his student incredibly fast. Grabbed him and brought him out of the water still at an enhanced speed swimming faster then any human ever could. He could hardly see at this point since most of the dome was covered in blood, all he saw his Insai making gestures. They are all dead the dome moves with them in the centre he thought to himself but he would explain once making it out.

Insai felt Kisame grab him and pull him out. Going crazy on how the puppet user was getting pulled with them and had two puppets he was attempting to gesture Kisame knowing they were both low on chakra and had little chances of surviving against this guy. They shot out into the water dome a high speeds flying at a tree Kisame let go of him knowing he could land on his own. “Sensei!” Insai tried to say while gasping for air and pointing behind him. “He is behi...” He couldn't finish the sentence as a hand got put over his mouth he was also immobilized. In horror he saw a blade sticking out of his chest sliding out in front of it. Insai was trying to scream but no word would come out, only blood. He was desperately trying to signal to Kisame before it was too late, he knew he was going to die but he wasn't ready to let his sensei die with him. The puppet user was right behind him... Maybe if I can set off the explosive tags in my back pocket... All I need to form is the Tiger handseal. He was wondering why Kisame hasn't looked back yet. Damnit why is this happening it can't be this is all wrong he felt a tear go down his cheek and then another and then a wave came down tears streaming down one after another, how pathetic, I'm a ninja of the village of the hidden mist. Do I have no pride crying on the verge of death? As a tear was streaming down his cheek he saw a puppet start moving to Kisame, in a desperate attempt he focused his chakra into the tear as it slide of his cheek and manipulated it to become sharper. Suddenly it cut through a chakra string allowing him to move his wrist. He quickly bent his wrist enough to slam it into his other hand forcing it into the Tiger handseal detonating a few paper bombs in his back pocket. This burning off a lot of flesh on his back in a desperate attempt to save the only man who cared for him and he loved. Despite never showing love back to Insai he knew that deep down Kisame cared for him. All the strings exploded causing the puppet user to get burned in the front as well as losing control over all his puppets. Kisame turned around instantly kunai in his hand and from there all Insai hear was Kisame scream at the top of his lungs before the world went black...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Insai opened his eyes. All he felt was pain, he looked around him he saw a blood sack attached to a poll. He could hardly make out figures he saw people rushing around him... He saw someone with teal skin immediately recognized his sensei before once more drifting off once more this time with a smile upon his face. Waking up once more he sees Kisame sitting by his side looking out the window. “Kid you are something special.” was all he heard Kisame say “Uh.. ouch.. Sensei what on earth happened back there?” “We took the Sand ninja into custody. He is being tortured as we speak mind you he is missing a few limbs. This might start a feud between the nations and trigger some ridiculous war.” “Why were they after you? All Yagura-sama has told me was that I was suppose to await you at that tree and be prepared to meet Sunagakure ninjas in combat.” “Aha, kid you wouldn't believe what I've managed to get a hold of.” As he was saying this he lifted up a bag containing an orb with sand swirling within it. Seemingly to have read his mind Kisame explains “The orb itself is useless however what it contains is godly. It will give the power of Shukaku to however inhales the sand, only a small portion of Shukaku's strength but enough to turn an average ninja into a formidable foe by giving them mastery over earth and sand.” Insai thought of what he could do with this mastery over earth is what he was looking into. He had a secret that he has never told anyone not even Kisame the man who took him in after hell and with the order of Yagura. Insai had a past we never wished to speak of...
His father was lying on his death bed surrounded by people fighting eachother. “Stay safe I'll be gone for a moment” said his father before leaving outside and ended up fighting dozens of ninjas invading his home. His family was originally from Konoha but after Tobirama, his grandfather died they had to leave Konoha, well that's what his father told them. He remembered as a child seeing his father always create wooden tools for him to play with. His father explained to him the Will of Fire and told him never to forget what his grandfather so dearly believed in, Insai young at the time ignored him and went off on his own.
He then remembered the fight, being upstairs hearing his mom screaming while hearing other screams, running downstairs he saw many people there who were fighting his dad who would punch them once like heroes would and kill them with supreme strength. His father then used wood to bind them and kill them until he was struck from behind in the back of the neck by a man wearing a mask... He uttered six words that Insai will always remember and have nightmares about “The Will of Fire is dead.” He then disappeared. Insai shifted upstairs and hid under his desk hoping to stay alive as his mother disappeared. He woke up the next morning alive and went out to explore the world until he came upon Kirigakure.
I'm here now he thought. He was lying still with Kisame sitting near him still in pain. “Sensei when will I be able to get out of here again?” A shadowy look took place on Kisame's face. “Boy... I'm sorry but you aren't going to fight again. Too much risk at this point doctor says you will be lucky if you can run again.” Something was caught in Insai's throat. He couldn't move or say a thing, all that happened was a tear welled up within his eye. No, no. This can't be happening... The doctor must be lying I can do something... I'm stronger then others, I am above the norm. He was balling his eyes out at this point. Kisame got up and jumped out of the window going through the city of Kiri probably gonna go drown his sorrows thought Insai. Then a plan struck him like a rock. He quit sobbing and started thinking. He had an idea that might hopefully allow him to run again and also manage to become stronger, it was a long shot but his best hope. All he needed to do is find Yagura along with his teacher.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Insai was allowed out of his room once, he decided to take a walk around his village to see it's beauty once more. He took a step out of his room and felt the great breeze from an open window down the hall. This is nice, finally I can breath some fresh air he took a step towards the door, it was painful he felt the burns in the back of his legs I'd rather put up with the pain then stay in that cursed room Insai told himself. Step after step he made it to the door and took a step into the light.

If felt great having the sunlight on his face, a rare thing in his village which was always covered in dense mist. He started limping down the streets, he earlier insisted that he didn't want crutches however now he was regretting the decision. He took a walk around with a great deal of pain and made it two blocks from the hospital making it to his favourite dumpling shop. It's been a while since I got to taste their delicious dumplings, he took a step in and walked to his table that he always ate at. Taking a seat Miru a waitress whom always served Insai first and spoke to him about his life as a ninja was with him in a moment. “Where have you been?” Asked Miru with a worried look on your face. “I got hit pretty badly, looks like I won't be a ninja much longer...” Insai let out a sigh. He always wanted to become a great ninja like Kisame and his grandfather, he was hoping to impress Miru, the blond headed waitress. She was one of the few blondes within Kirigakure and most guys had a crush on her. How am I suppose to compete with them now that I can't even fight Insai felt disappointment and dispair. “How sad, I'll buy you your dumplings today for you. The usual?” “It's okay Miru, I can pay I still have some mission money left over. And yes I will have what I usually do.” Miru left with a saddened look on her face and ran off to get him his dumplings. After a few minutes she returned and gave him some ramen along with his dumplings “Thanks!” he said as she handed them to him. She left without speaking a word.

Insai's only day out of the hospital wasn't going well so he decided to head back and began making his way out of the shop. Suddenly a ninja walked in wearing an odd suit with red clouds on it. He felt odd in that man's presence so he quickly walked past him trying to ignore the pain and made his journey back to the hospital in a painful manner. At least my stomach is full Insai smiled. He passed by an old building which he immediately recognized as his academy, remembering the good times he spent there and how much he looked forward to becoming a ninja back then Too bad that won't be happening anymorethought Insai as he walked past it and walked down the road to the hospital.

A week past since he was allowed outside and Kisame hasn't returned to see how Insai has been doing. He is probably on a highly classified mission given to him by Yagura-sama himself thought Insai. He had been sitting here for a week with nothing to do locked in his room which left his mind to wander. What happened to the Sand ninjas? Will a war break out? If so what can I do? Why am I stuck here when my peers are surpassing me? All these thoughts ran through Insai's head. He felt as if he was going to go insane, locked in this “Prison” The only time he saw someone else was when they brought his meals or did his daily check up. If I'm here for another week I would much rather die he thought bored out of his mind. Another day past, finally the door opened this time it wasn't noon. Finally... Someone has come for me. “Insai...” The voice was not familiar. Who is this man? “You must wonder who I am” said the man in the shadow of the door. He is rather tall and slim thought Insai seeing the shadow of this man. “I am none other then Kushimaru Kuriarare. One of the Seven Swordsman. I have some good news and bad news.” “Tell me the good news first.” Said Insai. “I actually have two good things for you. First we are getting you out of this hellhole. Second I am pleased to say that your sensei has joined the Seven Swordsman of the Mist.” This hit Insai like a train. He knew Kisame was strong but the Seven Swordsman were legendary and monsters, Kirigakure's main strength. How did he manage that? Thought Insai. “The bad new however is... He will no longer be instructing you. He is now a wanted S-rank criminal for the murder of Fuguki Suikazan and the theft of Samehada. He killed his own mentor and took the sword. Then disappearing from the Land of Waves, we suspect he has joined a new group. The Akatsuki... Now sadly all of the Swordsman are now disappearing and becoming rogue ninjas. Kisame left three days ago. We just figured out that Zabuza left as well.” Insai couldn't listen to another word. How could Kisame just leave him here for a stupid sword?! He was so angry and couldn't believe what has happening. I better grab a bit of sleep, and relax before thinking of something else He thought. Before he could do anything Kushimaru grabbed him and yanked him out of his bed. “Let's go kid we have a few questions.”

Why... Why... Why... That was all Insai could think of. He was in so much pain emotionally and physically since his parents died and Kisame left him. He was angry at himself, at his parents, at Kisame, at Yagura and even at everyone in Kiri. He hated living at this point. Recently being stuck in a room getting the worst news in his life, him having to quit being a ninja. Now the only man he trusted left him for a sword and became a criminal. And he was now heading to the intel corps to get interviewed on what he knew about Kisame. They reached a shady looking building at the far east end of the village when they walked inside Kushimaru pulled him into a room. The room was small, maybe seven feet by seven feet or so, all that was in it was a small table with two chairs that barely fit. Suddenly Insai felt angry, more angry then ever before. He didn't know what came over him but all of a sudden he grabbed Kushimaru by his left arm and flipped him over his shoulder with immense strength throwing him up against a wall on the opposite side of the room. Kushimaru went flying as if he was thrown by a monster, however as a swordsman he also was extremely skilled and in the split second he had before colliding into the wall he flipped himself and landed on the wall legs first using them as springs. Insai knowing Kushimaru's skill and knowing he wasn't suppose to be able to fight was wondering what was going on. He moved out of the room and shut the door locking it in an instant only to hear Kushimaru bang on the door.

Insai walked out with a limp. Once he got into the daylight he felt better. He kept walking in a relaxed manner to not arouse any suspicions. He started making his way to his apartment and then realized that the intel corps would be there checking it out. Damnit! What the hell did I just do? Since when am I that strong? None of these thoughts made sense in his head. He figured with what he just did he had no choice but to leave the village. My home... My family... My sensei... It looks like I will be leaving it all behind. With that the limping boy made it to the village gates. And snuck out past the guards who were paying little attention with ease limping into the darkness... To be continued

I haven't read it yet, but is it just me or are the words small? I would try a bigger size font or a different font all together :) Make it easier for people to read it.

-_- Sensei has spoken and so you shall do as she commands you little welp...or else you die slow painful death.
o_O wow student I still have to read it to give him proper feed back. :scorps:
@Zoro it may need to be broken up, I use arial font so it looks different then this :shrug:
I would shorten it though, people get discouraged when reading a really long chapter, Reborn had the same problem at first. My head is killing me so I will read the rest later.

Very nicely done.

There were a few errors here and there (When a new character starts speaking, you need to start a new paragraph), but the majority of it was written without error. ^_^

The story is good, and definitely interesting, taking a historic view, it seems of Kisame's past.

Well done.

Well done <3 I do agree though, speech should be given its own separate paragraph. Its hard to decipher and distinguish between speech and narration when only "" are used :|

I changed it to Arial to take a look... It looks more or less the same :shrug:

Yeah my next chapters will be shorter, a half or a third shorter then this one.
