@bold So do I and I respect your opinion. If you think a single apology is all it takes to leave all the negative crap he did with her thats your prerogative. There hasnt been any positive development between Sakura and Sasuke anywhere in the manga prior to 699
Sasuke hurt Naruto a lot more and more than once. He was quite rude to Kakashi too and he did the same to Sakura. For him apologizing at that point was just a start. It's not the word that count but action and for me the most important change Sasuke showed was, was in refusing the artificial hand and not grudging Naruto what he gained in the end. He is not in the center of activities within Konoha and he is still content and doing what he sees would be better redemption for him. Doing things off the screen. His response to Sakura later when leaving the village was also markedly different to show the changes in his attitude. So for me there is no reason to see it as a battered housewife or anything negative from that point on.
Why would you even confuse an ideal situation in a manga with a real life situation? It's not a slice of life kind of genre either nor aimed at female issues.
Its always been Sasuke making Sakura miserable. Some people love tragic love stories I guess but that doesnt mean you bash people who hate on it.
Always? He didn't do anything particularly against her till she went to kill him after he was declared a missing nin.
Romance is supposed to be a positive thing
Read Weathering Heights. Your romanticism for romance will fly out of the window. You want the most effed up idea of romance for me- Have you ever come across the Three musketeers? D'Artagnan and Athos make me want to kill them because of their selfish hypocrisy, and double standards. The Casuarina Tree by W.S. Maugham would do wonders for the romance if any left.
I stopped for looking for female oriented romance in books targeted for male audience ages ago and certainly not in the shonnen manga in an industry where genres are so much divided among fixed type of audience.
Sakura making a stand and rejecting Sasuke probably wouldn't go well with publishers anyway. They wanted Sasuke to get everything except the things he denied himself after his return. No one is making him but he himself is taking the penalties for his "sins". Too good to be true but Naruto made a promise to Itachi and the sage. Did he prove to be a lucky bastard in this regard? Probably yes. Should we assume worst for Sakura- I don't see the need.
Its there in NaruHina and all other ships but isnt there in SasuSaku.
Hinata was lucky that Naruto didn't lose his path nor she ever saw him losing control or being at receiving end of his kyuubi form.
Naruto did call Obito the coolest guy ever and the guy had killed his parents.
Obito, that wanted to be hokage not the Obito playing Tobi. There is a difference and one has to check what it means to be a hokage in Naruto's dictionary.
Ino's father is dead partly because of Sasuke yet she was fangirling when he arrived. That I should be forced to accept whatever Kishi does because he is the writer is retarded.Lets agree to disagree
Sasuke wasn't actively involved in that particular accident. He reached ground with reinforcement - the best possible at that point. So why even complain about that...
I never tried to justify Sasuke on his negative path but I cannot actually find fault with him once he is back this completely. In RL I will be skeptic. But since it's manga and writers says he came back completely changed and nice then he is. shurg* He mostly gets a pass from me since Naruto made a promise to Itachi and Itachi did gain that much favour in my eye.
You don't have to accept anything. But the story is his and in the end you can either only agree or disagree. Kishi was trying to emphasize the necessity of making attempts to understand perspective of others and forgive past and concentrate on future. The manga is about understanding, cooperation, sincerity, forgiveness , teamwork and friendships. There was no deeper meaning of the manga to begin with.
