The Last Hope: Chapter One

“My beloved sister, the world is in pandemonium. They have removed the exclamation mark from life, and have replaced it with a question mark; while some a comma, like it's an unfinished sentence. They are so obtuse and indifferent toward one another, while giving priority to temporal matters. World currency has brainwashed their minds, and defiled their hearts. So much so, that if they are faced with a decision to choose between an unruly family member and success, the latter claims precedence. Their ideals and philosophies teach to die fighting for a role in a society that was created by deceased strangers, rather than give every breath for reconciliation of living family members and friends. They don't know how to live, how to exist happily without wanting. When they want, they sacrifice. The more wishes, the more stars that litter the fields. The act of buying mundane items is through the sacrifice of food and drink. This act of sacrificing need for want is occurring on a grand scale, all around the world. Companionship is akin to property, thrown away when it's no longer beneficial. Love no longer has any value; it’s no longer worth fighting for. Years of unity means squat when faced with monetary opposition. Instead, they give value to commodities that has no value at all without their existence, yet does not mind erasing their blessed existence for this merchandise. They are arrogant in their ignorance. It's like watching fish sell their water with the promise that they can one day be on land. Their curiosity has idiotized them. The significance of camaraderie has been replaced with self-worth. They are like trained dogs, fearful of being rejected by their master. Their owner apprises what goals they should seek, they may as well be fetching a bone their master displaced far out of their reach. The more unobtainable the goal, the more they will rejoice and inevitably become arrogant of their silly achievements. From childhood, they are taught superiority and inferiority, when the intelligent kid receives an award for their performance, while the not so intelligent receives bad grades. They have deluded themselves into thinking receiving a reward for their hard work in society, is any better than a child receiving a lollipop for being a good boy. The importance of their accomplishments is self-imposed. They are the freest creatures on earth, yet have limited themselves to regulation and majority opinion. It’s equivalent to birds clipping their wings because the majority of animals obey the rule of gravity. All of them are subject to ignorance, yet they mock each other for lack of information. They are still very young in the bottomless sea of knowledge. They’re like babies laughing at each other for not knowing how to yet say goo-goo gaga. They are buffoons. Life for mankind is no longer progressing; it’s a raindrop increasing in size. It’ll one day fall and dismantle itself and the earth along with it.

This cannot continue, please my sister, do something. The boy is currently among them, he is our only hope. I leave it in your hands. Remember, they must not know who or what you truly are. If your name is ever revealed, they will become disoriented and the world will… cease to exist.”

This was her second time reading the letter, her sky blue eyes were clouded with worry. Her hands were gentle, but trembled at the words and concern of her sister. Her body language translated her inner thoughts, one hand on her chest, as if to quell the rumbling going on behind her flesh and bones. Her spirit was one with the words on the paper, wavering along with them with each brush of the wind. The breeze behaved as if it loved her brown hair, it attempted to carry away every string. She could be mistaken for a cloud, as she stood atop a mountain with her white dress; it draped six feet of beauty. One blow of a kiss from her pink lips was gentle enough to land on a butterfly. Her intemerate mind was now filled with thoughts of her sister and that boy.

She furled the letter in one hand, holding it by her side, her disposition now poised and resolved. She extended her arms, and fell from the sky like a snow flake.

“For my sister’s sake, I must find that boy.”

To be continued...

Note: Yes, I know this chapter is short. :p

What is with the giant wall of text? O_O Space your paragraphs and break them down. :p

"World currency has brainwashed their minds, and defiled their hearts." ',' not needed.

Ok no more pointing out errors. XD Sorry about that, some habits die hard. Anyways it was good. I like how you changed up your writing a bit, but the giant wall of text is making the words all come together. I'll try reading it again when I don't have the flu. Glad to see you're writing again though. ^_^
