Yes it's canon and I doubt they will animate it. They have never done that before with all the other comics and most of them follow chronologically on each other.

As a Zuko fan I was so stoked to see him use dragon fire. FINALLY he has something more powerful than Azula.

I wonder of those spirits are real or not. First I thought they were fakes and that they merely were manipulating Mai's dad, but now that they are getting Aang involves, I'm not so sure anymore. I don't really get though why a bunch of spirits would be interested in who's the Fire Lord.

I really liked Part 1 of this Comic-chapter.
The Ozai-organisation makes the political aspects of the show more realistic because not everyone agrees with the change that Zuko, Aang and Co. brought to the world. Not everything is puppies and kittens after their victory.
And the "Kemurikage" bring some mystic touch into the series again.
Oh.. part 2 is also released now. Maybe there should be another thread to it?
I really liked the second part because of the past of the fire nation and the big twist at the end.. but I feel like the Ozai-organisation isn't really a big deal, it seems that just Mai's dad is important, sadly :/

There's no need for another thread. Considering we know there are only three parts, we discuss each individual comic trilogy in the same thread.

Seems in the end I was still right about them being humans and not real spirits. Loved that we received some insight into the history of the Fire Nation and I didn't expect Azula to pup up again ^^

I expected Azula to come back, but not as one of the fake-spirits.
Now I am really curious about how they are going to handle Azulas redemption and the kidnapping-stuff. I'm sure Azula will be "good" at the end of this comic, hopefully she will still do kind of her own thing tho.

I have no idea which known character could have joined the Kemurikage.
But I guess, they are just new, irrelevant hench(wo)men, hired by Azula.

Thought they stopped making these. Good read..missed these tbh. Mai still loves zuko...lol cannot wait for the last part this month? Cool also heard that korras adventures are making a return... looking forward to it.

Yes, there will be Korra-comics that start in Fall 2016, after "Smoke and Shadow" is completed.
