Why don't I see more talk of jiraiya?? Is it cause he's dead? I see hiruzen hype, the other 2 sannin, the main 3 many side characters and what not have rabid fans, why not J man? He was pretty badass and probably the only other person to attempt to fight itachi without sh tting himself, with kisame there no less. He managed to give pain some trouble with 0 Intel. I feel he deserves a bit more credit, or has he already been wanked to death on nb?

I agree, it seems like people with natural talent just get put to the wayside by fan bases(it's even better that jiraiya started out as a bumbling kid like naruto, and became a sannin) plus his design was just straight up cool

Indeed! Plus he trained Minato AND naruto for the most part. Without him konoha would of been rofl stomped even harder by pain imo

I always assumed he caught up to oro in terms of fighting skill/ability by the time they deadlock in part 1(it's insinuated that oro was above him when he left the village) and he was poisoned then. It would of been nice to see a few more fights of his tbh. But he did have one of the best

I think the community as a whole have come to the consensus that Jiraiyah simply was a great character as a whole. He was skilled without being OP. He was a likable guy, and was probably one of the few in the VS with actual character ( being a perv)

Even Kishi didn't want to ruin his character by bringing him back as an Edo :sdo:
