You're under the impression they don't already prioritize states with higher electoral votes, so the so-called "flaw" in the popular vote is already in the electoral vote (rest assured those states with lower electoral votes aren't being neglected because every vote matters). But I'll say it again before I start to ignore you: every single vote matters to politicians so think again if you believe the popular vote would be "flawed" and certain states would be "neglected" given these numbers.

You seem rather slow on the uptake so I'll spell it out for you.

Nominee A - Republican
Nominee B - Democrat

Everybody in the U.S. will be voting for either A (Republican) or B (Democrat) and each vote is as influential and worth as much as the rest, no matter what state you live in. When all the votes from the states are counted and divided for the respective parties, the person who received the most votes from the total wins the presidency (i.e., A's 10,000,000 > B's 9,000,000 so A wins). Tada! How unfair is that except to the eyes of morons who believe votes would be neglected from states with low populations.

Except when building my platform I only have to really pay attention to those that are of concern in majority States. As long as my interests align with theirs I have no worries.

I get that u believe every vote counts but the current system makes it so that each state can vote on the candidate that best represents their issues rather than just being lumped into one whole or seen simply as a minority.

And under your model the desires of bigger states would hopelessly out number smaller ones. But in the electoral college the desires of the smaller states are given more adequate representation even though they may not have as large a population. Really what don't you get from that. I get that this election was close, but what those results mean is that Trump is the greater good by region as judged by voters in said regions

And since I see that you are saying that they may just ignore smaller states now, if you look the votes aren't exactly proportionate to the size. Ppl are given better representation in smaller states and the state gets more power than it would have if you were just calculating population

given the fact that Places like NY, and Cali have been heavy democratic for the past 3 decades no, the priority states have been states that have mixed views and don't blindly vote democratic, and would you look at that 60 million in the bag, just by convincing 2 states alone.
