In fandom you can absolutely ruin the source material and this is one way that NB does it.

TBH fillers themselves don't even have inconsistencies, at least not any that are much different than what the manga has. Only times where they TRULY go off the wall in regards to things like time line or powers is in Naruto movies bar The Last and Bolt. Unlike those movies, most fillers at least actually make sense in the context of the manga.

It leaves the realm of cannon when they alter it like they did in the Sarada arc. Sarada is also meant to have Sasuke's talent yet is struggling at basic chakra control yet can use CES which requires super advanced chakra control. You know that means any portrayal of Sarada as weak or struggling at basics goes towards filler right?
