The hate against Obito...

I was just perusing some YouTube reviewers and scrolling through the comments for no real reason... but the Obito hate is over 9000.

Hundreds of people saying he's one of the worst characters ever created, they're glad he's dead, pedophile over Rin, Kishi should have killed him earlier, he doesn't deserve Naruto's forgiveness, Madara should have murdered him... it's a little much. I feel it's even worse than his Juubi jinchuriki days during my lurker time here when every other thread was about how much Obito sucked.

Point being, why didn't more people like Obito? Was his past not sad enough? Were his motives not good enough? Was he not threatening enough as a villain or redeemed enough as an ally? Was he not relatable in all of his misery? I'm not an Obito fanboy, but I thought he played his part well. I'm actually really confused.

Well some people like him for what he was done in the last few chapters and some people don't due to the fact Naruto forgave him.

The people hate him because they think his reasoning wasn't good enough. Instead of looking at the actual context of how Obito's life was painful and how he had nothing except Rin and Kakashi and how he was manipulated and indoctrinated by Madara and how he witness the true face of the ninja world and how he lost every speck of hope in humanity, they make it as superficial as possible and say he got "friendzoned"....

It's most likely people don't like him because of him being Tobi, which gave him a bad rep at the start. He had such a great "I don't care" persona that it was bad that he turned out to be one of the "Leafs" Uchiha. It didn't help that in the end he gave up on his ideals and at the start he abandoned his dream. That's basically the reason I don't enjoy him as much as the other villains, or Uchihas for the matter. I don't particularly hate him though.

Ignore them, I shall. That area of discussion was just... I'm definitely glad Kishi doesn't care about any audience but Japan, that's for sure.

Sawyer comes off as a pretentious douche a lot. But I didn't go there to listen to them talk, I went there to read some of the opinions on the chapter. Last time I make that mistake.
