The Great Dojutsus

So, aren't there only two great dojutsus, Byakugan and Sharingan? Technically, the Rinnegan is just an advancement of the Mangekyo Sharingan. I mean, you don't hear people saying there are four great dojutsus--the Byakugan, Sharingan, Mangekyo Sharingan, and Rinnegan--right?

Rinnegan is not and advancement of anything unless u have six paths chakra which is basically hagaromo chakra so it's impossible to awaken it unless ur otsusuki or transmigrant

You can not awaken the Rinnegan without first having a Sharingan. They are different ability wise, but they are the same thing.

Otherwise MS and EMS would be "An entirely new dojutsu" also.

OT: OP Sharingan, Byakugan, Rinnegan, and Tenseigan are the 4 canon dojutsu.

Tenseigan is canon too, because the Last movie is canon. Both Rinnegan and Tenseigan are their own dojutsu, because neither can be obtained with just any sharingan or a byakugan. The Rinnegan is only possible if you have hago/otsutsuki chakra, the sharingan has nothing to do with it. And though a byakugan is needed for tenseigan, it needs a "pure" byakugan is needed, aka a byakugan from undiluted hyuga bloodline

I agree that they're two separate dojutsu, but Indra's Sharingan is still required because normal eyes don't possess Hagoromo's Yin

^^That's why Hago said Rinnegan=Indra+Ashura's chakra=hago's chakra.

Rinnegan in itself is hago's chakra, which I would imagine has plenty of his yin and yang. There's nothing that says Indra's sharingan specifically is needed that's just a stretch to make it seem like the sharingan is somehow necessary for the Rinnegan. Otherwise Hago would've said "Ashura's body+Indra's sharingan". Their chraka transmigrates, that is all we know.

Plus, even if their was no Indra, no two sons what so ever, which means there would be no diluted blood and no uchiha clan or sharingan, the formula would still be Rinnegan=hago's charka. Not even Indra or Ashura are necessary, their chakra isn't even necessary it's only apart of the equation because together they equal their dad's chakra
