Okay...maybe in darwinistic terms...but, most people aren't like that, and most won't do anything for power, not in our modern world. Everyone wants to rule the world, but you'd be hard pressed to find a person that'd be willing to kill or hurt anyone and everyone to do it. The world really doesn't work the way you suggest, and people are mostly altruistic animals.
