At first I was like "they're just chains" but I think you made it clear that there is a connection. I think the spirals on the Mazo is a little out there but overall I think it's a sound theory. Nicely done

This is really nice , I've been thinking about those chains that obito used on Minato when he tried to trap him.
I couldn't really come up with anything for them, except points for how smart he was for trying capture him that way, unfortunately also how much smarter he should have been, if only he had added some sort of jutsu to those chains the would work the instant Minato touched them. I didn't even notice those whirlpool swirls on the Mazou, great eye.

And I think you are right. I looked up some chains that Kishi drew, and they are different. The Gunbai, the kusari Obito and Madara have are different. Only in that jutsu are they like that.

And those spike are for reinforcement, and to keep them easier in place, so yes... most likely the same binding jutsu...

what always struck me as odd, was that he knew Minato had FTG yet still tried to use the chains....I know plot wise it had to look like he didn't know him, but in retrospect, what an idiot Obito was for even trying to capture the 4th with some chains
