yeah because when they were little, naruto saved hinata from getting gang banged by those group of boys that one time and then he got beat up while hinata watched his... "bravery"... then hinata's superior came and took her away and told her to stay away from naruto

I think Hiruzen did. Since you know, he saved him as a baby and provided a good life for him. And then there was Ramen Guy. He fed Naruto nightly. But sure, that stalker was probably third in line. Imagine if Hinata was a guy and acted like that. Everyone would hate him for being creepy

His parents of course recognized him, but he didn't know anything about them. I guess the 3rd Hokage could count, but the things he did with Naruto he did with others also. But, he also is the one that pushed Iruka to make a bond with Naruto. So I guess the third hokage is the first one.
