Long, Long ago in a galaxy far, far away.....
The constellations spread out in all their brilliant illuminisence as Starship, Delta one zoomed past with blinding speed. The solar system, Nebulan 123 whirled away in a torrid maze of of spiralling white light. The starship itself was a barely perceptible dot amidst the vast cosmos that loomed up on either side of it. The 39 planets shone with all the colors of the visual spectrum in a brilliant kaleidoscope that hummed with all the brilliance of the 40 billion lives that inhabited this corner of the galaxy.
For captain Issac and his crew, operation: Pioneer 1 had been a success. The alien planet of Nimkroc had been colonised with the very first human settlements. The first stage was complete and the board was all set, this would be the launchpad for an ensuing exodus and the spreading of earth's influence and captain Issac's green ticket for a promotion.
Issac: Starlog, year 26, November 18 4:50 A.M earth standard time. I, Captain Kurt Isaac in my capacity as commander of starship Delta One call forth this report as directed.
Spock: First officer Spock reporting in.
Kirabil: Weapons sergeant Maxmile Kirabil reporting in.
Neville[: Systems specialist Neviile reporting in.
Isaac: Affirm. All present here today bear witness to the fulfillment of a dream that has been long in the making: the successful installation of the very first human colony in the largest known habitable planet: Atlantia.
As the captain read out the specifics of all that had taken place within the last 72 hours, the 15 man crew aboard the central control room breathed a sigh of relief. They had all toiled for decades for this exact day, and there was more than a bit of nostalgia creeping in a lot of them.
The control room was an example of the latest cutting edge technology and state of the art interface system development. The room was surrounded by a dome shaped glass window which gave out a 180 degree holographic projection of space in real time. Bordering the glass at the far end of the room were the dozen or so computerized stations which managed every system in place aboard this colossal 5000 passenger space ship. At the center of the room, on a sort of raised platform was the station of the ship's commander with two panels on either side of him, the left panel a standardized daily operations module , but on the right side, rising like an armrest, was the red button: the force of 20 hydrogen bombs at their disposal.
At the same moment, half a light year away...
A triangular shaped vessel zoomed past the rocky dirt that was the last leg of the chain of meteorites that spanned the two great known galaxies. The Ont-Hai were the mercenary warriors who manned it, the last surviving race of the small planet Gamatron that was eradicated in the Great inter-galactic war of 2866. The cause of its extinction: the great grandfather of captain Isaac: known as Jacob the executioner who , under direct orders massacred an entire race off people, effectively wiping them all out of existence.....or so everyone believed.
'Target 0.5 light years and closing, exiting Nimroc's gravitational field in 10 minus 1 seconds'.
An alien face with a rough countennance which resembled that of a bull, with a long sloping forehead and sharp pointed ears that stretched backwards , colored entirely in shades of green and brown responded huskily: 'Roger that. Keep the datum fixed, and give me a projected fix of target's position for the next 10 minutes. Position lock on, and prepare to fire at my command...'
