Toneri did not have any eyes since birth and decided to steal Hanabi Hyūga's Byakugan by kidnapping the heiress. After taking her eyes and combining the power of countless generations of sealed Byakugan that were sacrificed by the Ōtsutsuki clan, he awakens the Tenseigan.

Shikamaru said something like Toneri didn't have enough and/or the right chakra to stabilized the process into is body after the machine was destroyed, Hanabi's eyes are normal you can see them in all the spoilers.

If you are talking about the part where he floated in space...in the spoiler i read Shikamaru said he was accidentally absorbing the Sun's energy and couldn't handle it

Toneri gained this tenseigan power thx to the machine full of eyes, the pattern in them looked like a gear and they were light blue but it's pretty clear Hanabi's eyes are basic byakugan, they are plain white just like before.

That would be weird...considering Nagato and Kakashi

Kakashi had Obito's chakra to aid him when he regained the MS. Nagato on the other hand, could barely make one CT while both Sasuke and Madara made multiple with ease and barely any chakra.

What i meant was that in other case's of evolved eyes...the eye seems to retain the chakra that caused the evolution in the first place.

If Tenseigan is a evolution of Byakugan...it might be able to return to base form like Mangekyou

guess it is just a case of you have to see it yourself.

After Naruto punched Toneri into the cliff face, the tenseigan pattern on Toneri's eyes literally dissolved from the eyes and they reverted back into regular byakugan. Hinata ripped these eyes out of Toneri's head and Sakura later implanted them back into Hanabi's head.
