-I report in, and the area somehow magically shifts to a grassy plain besides a lake.-I wait patiently for Doctor Kaguya to teach me water.
Well that was much more than I expected. o_oWater is one of the four basic elements that are believed to make up all matter. In oceans, it covers 70% of our planet's surface, and a large portion of the land is also spotted with lakes, streams, rivers, eddys, rills, and other, smaller bodies of water. Water can be both soothing and hurtful; it is known to heal when nothing else can, as well as wreak more destruction than any other force.
Water, in ninja techniques, is a force that can be an incredible ally. It is unique in that it can both be drawn from external sources and created in the user's body by manipulating the chakra. Water is also the only element that can change both its shape and state, e.g. using mist to hide yourself. It is one of the five basic elements in the ninja world.
Noted users include the Senju Tobirama, who could produce massive quantities of water from thin air (and chakra, and Hoshigaki Kisame, whose chakra reserves allowed him to inundate his foes.
I humbly accept your compliment. I turn my attention to the lake, and walk over. I sit at its bank and remove my shoes. I allow the tips of my toes to touch, to check temperature, and, when deemed comfortable I submerge my feet.Well that was much more than I expected. o_o
I commend you, seeing as none of my other students have been that descriptive yet.
Now, go dip your feet in the lake over there. How do you feel?
Oh no, you're perfectly fine. I prefer chatter here and there.I humbly accept your compliment. I turn my attention to the lake, and walk over. I sit at its bank and remove my shoes. I allow the tips of my toes to touch, to check temperature, and, when deemed comfortable I submerge my feet.
As my feet break the surface, the first thing I feel is cool refreshment. I smile as I feel the ripples spreading out from my calves, and watch as the sun is distorted on the bottom of the shallow bank. I feel the presence of the water as I move my feet, and notice that, although it parts before my toes, is still takes strength to move my limbs. I feel the urge to dive in, but resist.
(If I'm talking too much, feel free to tell me. I do that a lot.)
After my initial surprise at being suddenly kicked into the water fades, I swim to the surface. I channel chakra into the palms of my hands and test them on the surface. After I've determined I'm using enough, I pull myself up, channeling a slightly larger amount of chakra to my feet. I test them on the surface, and once I'm standing, I walk to the edge of the lake, step onto land, releasing the chakra in my feet as I do so, and walk a few feet from the water. I sit Indian style on the ground and rest my forearms on my knees. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, awaiting further instruction.Oh no, you're perfectly fine. I prefer chatter here and there.
-I walk next to you and kick you into the water.-
With basic chakra control, swim upwards, and climb on top of the water. I'm sure you know how to do this already. : )
Afterwards, walk back to land, and sit in a meditative position.
Great job. Tell me, without using the Naruto wiki, what element is water strong against, and what element is water weak against? After you've answered, go and stand in the middle of the lake. After my initial surprise at being suddenly kicked into the water fades, I swim to the surface. Good job! You've just learned your first jutsu! As soon as I see the fireball, I place my hands in front of me and channel my chakra there, calling to the water with it. I concentrate on feeling the ebb and flow beneath my feet, and when I feel the ripples from your fireball passing over the edge of the lake, I release a burst of chakra. A mass of water rises up instantly, and I shape my chakra to flatten it, just in time, and it collides with your fireball, diffusing them both. I shake slightly at the exertion, but I'm excited to continue.
What would you say an advantage, or disadvantage of this jutsu is? o.oI feel accomplished, and slightly drained, but now that I've learned this technique, I'm even more excited to learn more!
Arigatou, sensei!
I wait in the middle of the lake, still slightly bewildered, but glowing at the fact that I've learned my first tech.
Good. xdA big advantage is that it doesn't have just one shape and function; it can be used for multiple purposes.
A disadvantage is that it can only be used near a water source.
Great. Strength, weakness?I gather my chakra and focus on the area surrounding. Recalling what I've already learned, I gather the water chakra in the air and allow it to become more and more dense, until it turns to fog. I then allow to spread out, creating a blanket of mist over a large area.
Good.Strength: Excellent for covering movement, and could be very useful in infiltration and assassination.
Weakness: Does not cover sound, scent, or chakra, so sensors or people with heightened senses would have no problem finding you.
